LA NYE Parties/Events

Hi,

I know this is kind of early, but I might be in the LA area during NYE this year. I was wondering what are the big events this year. Hope there's a Sasha & Digweed B2B.

i know we dont have tiesto this year...he is in ny. it would be nice to see pvd back at giant though.

We have, ummm, Moby.

Moby for Giant Maximus so far, the second biggest massive NYE event in LA. We're still waiting for the other massive NYE event line-ups (Together As One), probably not going to come out until late October.

Last year Sasha & Digweed were doing the countdown at Together As One, then Ferry closed the event. At Giant Maximus, Tiesto had a 4 hour-set (minus 30 mins because it had to be stopped at one point).

Armin is still rumored to have another 8 hour-set for this year's NYE at LA. Not sure which promoter will have him yet, the chance is getting smaller and smaller though...

no there misconfused, i was at vanguard last weekend and they put giant nye/future vanguard/giant events

Duel purpose flyer. Giant Maximus on one side...Giant Saturday upcoming line-up on the other.

Well, it appears Armin _is_ doing an Armin Only in LA...Armin has been telling people and an a new article covering his upcoming Australian events at the beginning of January says he'll be doing an Armin Only in LA for NYE.

My question is, though....with who? Giant is doing Giant Maximus with MOBY. Will some other tent be an "Armin Only" tent? Because that wouldn't reallllly be Armin Only, would it. So if he wants to do it proper, it can't be at Giant Maximus...I wonder who is helping set it up this time around?

Yeah, but I don't think MOBY would play "on the side" .... and I don't think Armin would want an Armin Only event to be "on the side"

Downtown LA July 2008, even though it was still an 8 hours set by Armin. It was just a regular stage set-up by Giant Village, nothing fancy whereas Armin Only event should imply a special stage built only for Armin (kind of like Tiesto Elements of Life giant screen and special lighting and effects).

Still not sure where Armin is playing, but Armin could do his full show just fine @ Maximus. 3 tents last year. All huge. All headling acts. Obviously Tiesto was the biggest draw.
But 2 years ago was Ferry and Armin in one tent, Sasha and Digweed in another, and Sander had his own.
So If he is at Giant I think it would work out just fine.

I would love an indoor Armin Only event like in europe. Bring on the killer production and guests!

Yes, that was a great show 2 years ago... but, I'm assuming that Giant realized that they don't need to bring in that much talent for one night, and they'll still get good crowds at their events.


In any case, I'm not interested in either Moby (DJ set) or Armin for NYE.

yea thank god too. at least something good came out of that party. one of my favorite nights of last year thanks to 16bl and desyn.
