Southeast US gas shortage

anyone else affected by this? all the gas stations around me but wal-mart's are empty and have been for over a week.

I don't see how there is a shortage there because of the hurricanes, but in the midwest the prices are steadily dropping. Can't they just reroute a gas truck that way?

yeah man there have been fist fights and shit around here (Charlotte) at gas stations... there's barely anything available as of this past weekend. I live about 2 miles from the SC border, and I found some little po-dunk town 15 minutes from here that nobody really knows about with a fully operational gas station. I'm not even telling my friends about it!

no gas in johns creek/alpharetta/duluth/lawrenceville area. i waited saturday night for a hour and half over by haynes bridge and 400 and finally was able to get some gas

I don't know what the deal is, but this is starting to suck. The other day I waited almost an hour in line at the only station in town with gas. Of course they were charging like 4.59 for it, too...

I'm almost on empty again.

My girlfriend is from Atlanta, and she was telling me that her dad has had to be getting up at 4:30AM just to get gas without a hassle. She said people are complaining about there not being enough to go around for everyone, yet they're stupid enough to overfill (see: bring extra containers to the pump) and not leave enough for people behind them.
