well this may well be a newbie question, but what is all these a1 mixes, a2 mixes etc. all about?

i've stompled across a couple of them know, and i would go with that it stands for something, rather being a band :P

A1 = First track on Side A of the vinyl
A2 = Second track on Side A of the vinyl
B1 = First track on Side B of the vinyl
...
C1 = First track on Side A of the Second vinyl
and on and on...
