Anyone use XM Radio?

I have it in my car, and I loved it...until I lost both XM80 (The Move) and XM82 (System). I can get them online, but not in my car. This f'ing sucks

Starting October 4th (I think) you will be able to get Howard Stern, Martha Stewart and other talk radio

Yea...for an extra $4 per month I get Stern (who I'm not a huge fan of), the playboy station, and NFL radio. I'm not paying $48/year extra for that.

Sucks because I was hoping to get the Sirius EDM stations.

the sirius edm stations aren't very good imo

For what its worth, Jim Breuer has the best show on Sirius.

XM was great before. Now it's basically KTU with newer songs. XM80 has a great playlist (Dennis Ferrer, Shlomi Aber, Layo & Bushwacka, Digweed, and a few others were on pretty often). The only remaining EDM stations are XM81 - BPM (a bunch of Louie Devito wannabe's), XM Chill, and the disco station.

Ya, i agree. I mean VONYC sessions is pretty good, Oakeys show is decent, and now Markus Schulz has a show on sirius, but i never seem to catch it. They seem to play a lot of the same songs over and over again.... I've heard XM's EDM stations are pretty good

hold on because soon enough you will be able to choose music from both stations. I listen to howard everyday and they always talk about it. Right now they can only offer certain programming but eventually you will be able to pick and choose between what you want. i dont have a date for it but they said it will be in the near future.

hmm, maybe it just wasn't working last night...hope you're right. I really, really mis XM80 though

Posted by Victor Dinaire on Sep-30-2008 21:29:

The System has Armin's ASOT, Trance Around The World with Above & Beyond, European Union (rotating DJ's), Subterranean with Zoltar, Preach, and my show (Lost Episode) with a couple of more shows that I'm forgetting.

BPM has Ferry's "Corsten's Countdown" along with Tiesto and many other DJ's

The merger will be interesting to see how everything falls into place considering that the System is due to be removed from the channel line up once the merger is complete..

wait, they are going to get rid of System?? so there would only be 1 trance channel?

Posted by BiG MiKE on Sep-30-2008 23:25:

So System won't be on anymore? I use XM Radio too, by the way.

Posted by StarSoprano426 on Oct-01-2008 01:52:

I've had xm for about 4 years now but I stopped it in my new apt because I can't seem to get reception.

Posted by Victor Dinaire on Oct-01-2008 02:23:

As of right now, the System isn't going to make the cut. Who knows, maybe they will add a new station. I would say we have at least 5-6 more months with the System...

Posted by Geistsoul13 on Oct-01-2008 02:45:

X80-X82 work really good for me, I especially like "The System".

Hopefully for you that problem was only for that one day.

Sirius has "Area 38" which is hit or miss. This is really the only trance channel. They have the "Chill", "Beatbox" "Strobe" channels,etc... Funny to listen to the "Strobe" all older disco stuff from the 70's early 80's....I get flashbacks

Still not getting the System in my car

Why not call XM up and see what the issue is its might be a bad radio and they would probably replace it?

Posted by Uncle ED on Oct-01-2008 17:02:

so will Sirius get some good XM channels???

Posted by Greggy4202k on Nov-12-2008 20:33:

Looks like they started the merger. I have sirius and I now get BPM and Area 38. Though, Area 38 has all the DJ shows now:

Tiesto Club Life
PVD - Vonyc Sessions
Ferry Corsten: Corstens Count Down
Carl Cox Global
Matt Darey Nocturnal
Robbie Rivera- Juicy Show
Paul Oakenfold - Perfecto on Tour
Markus Schulz - Evolution
JP
StoneBridge
Murk
George Acosta
Steve Porter

I thought ASOT was on BPM Before...i dont see any listing for it now, maybe they dropped it?
