The Dodger's playoff thread...

They were the best team in baseball in September and it continued tonight. I'm stoked with the way the team looks. Also because I got tix for Sunday and got out of work that day. With the Dodgers playoff record since 1988 I was worried about missing the game because of a sweep. I still am. What if the Dodgers sweep? Puts a loyal fan in kind of a funny spot when you're holding tix for game 4.
Oh yeah...and we need to pay Manny what ever he needs to stay. Aside from obvious offensive contributions, he has totally transformed that clubhouse. He's found a new home in LA.

Maybe I should make this a "Manny 4 MVP" thread. We've all seen what he's done with the Dodgers...but just look at his overall numbers for the season.
37 HR (4th in majors, 4th in NL)
121 RBIs (6th in majors, 3rd in NL))
.332 avg (3rd in majors, 3rd in NL)

Pujols is the only one close in numbers but in terms of "V"alue to his team...no one has done more.

We already took Schmidt off your hands. Lot a good he did us. He was almost as much of a steal as Andruw Jones

Yeah, they have the worst fans too. They are a bunch of bandwagon post 2002 Championship fans. Cant stand Angel fans. I think I know more about that franchise than they do, and I cant stand the California/Anaheim Angels.

here is to a Boston/Los Angeles World series.

I'm telling you...having tix for game 4 is really messing with my emotions. Dodgers playing better than they've played in years and have a real shot at getting to the World Series and all I can think is "just drop 1 so I can watch them wrap it up on Sunday!" Now how to feel for tomorrow nights game? Want nothing more in the world right now then for the Dodgers to move on...just do it in 4 for me please

i almost bought tickets for sunday too. i'd rather them wrap it up and hopefully score some tickets for the next series.

btw, there is a link on the dodgers website that you can register to be in the lottery to buy world series tickets if they make it that far.

I take offense to this, since my favorite players as a kid were Wally Joyner, Brian Downing, Chili Davis, Nolan Ryan, Jim Abbott, and Mark Langston. Of course the championship did great things for the organization, but Arte Moreno has done even better things for the Angels and their fans.

Worst fans? Have you sat out in the Pavilion at a dodger game? Its simply uncomfortable being around those people. The big A is such a better experience.

LA as a city is known for its bandwagon fans, dont blame the angels.

I would just contact the Dodgers directly. They have contact info on their site. Although I've been having trouble getting a hold of anyone to find out if I can carry my tix over to the NLCS of at least have tix reserved if I don't get to use these.

So Just got a hold of the stadium to ask about my tix. I have to take it up with Ticketmaster which doesn't suprise me. So "Cool1g" you can call the stadium at (323) 224-1507 although I would call ticketmaster for any ticketing info.

Sucks how game one of the playoffs didnt sell out in Anaheim. Where was the fan support? I think thats what I mean by worst fans, and yes I was generalizing a bit. Almost all of the Angle fans I know, are relatively new, uninformed bandwagon fans... post Championship, a championship that was brought to Anaheim thanks to the effort of an Ex Dodger coaching staff. You appear to know your stuff so I commend you for supporting your team but you are few and far between.
Yes, there is a lot of riff raff in the pavillions at Dodger Stadium, but the support and energy is there, thats what I look for when I go to the Staidum. I cant wait for tomorrow night.

Jeremy - if game 4 is not played due to not being necessary then you get a automatic refund from ticketmaster.

you'll have to try to buy tickets for the next round separately.

btw, i noticed they raised the prices from round 1 to round 2 back when they went on sale.

Posted by djjoshuaallen on Oct-04-2008 00:03:

vet26, it didnt sell out? Thats disgraceful, considering there are plenty more fans that probably would have like to be inside the stadium, but the brokers prob didnt do there job. Ticket master definatly was not selling tickets anymore.

The Dodgers obviously have more tradition, a larger fan base, and put more fans in the seats. But i dont think the Mccourts have a better product then arte. The experience of an angel game is much more enjoyable. And they are consitantly winning year after year, there is no denying Arte's commitment to winning. I cant really say that for sure about the Mccourts.

And dont tell me there are some bandwagon fans since Manny came along either...

And thanks for Mike S, how did the dodgers not put him in Blue for life?
