New Rock Music Recommendations

I'm really sick of today's music (non EDM), it's all the same trite over and over again. It's either all these pathetic Emo bands or chicks singing "duets" with rappers. As a result of this, I've pretty much stopped listening to the radio and prectically rediscovered my love for 90's Alternative rock/grunge.

Although, I know there still is some great new music to be found...so what do you guys recommend?

I'm pretty much into 90's alt rock/grunge, and besides that I like bands like U2, Orgy, Sevendust, 30 Seconds to Mars (the first CD), Disturbed, Godsmack, Oleander, nine inch nails, Stabbing Westward, Metallica (old stuff), Marilyn Manson, Staind, Audioslave, RATM, Beck, Better than Ezra...

Probably the only releases I've found this past 3 or 4 months that are worth anything are probably Candlebox's and Staind's new albums.

my new favorite bands are either Of Montreal or Mystery Jets. I also like Vampire Weekend a lot. Not exactly 90s grunge though.

Not really looking for 90's grunge though, that was just an example

I just want good rock music that is actually rock, you know what I mean? Not that emo crybaby bullshit that floods the radio nowadays...

check out British Sea Power, Interpol, The Last Shadow Puppets, the new album of The Verve. Foals are also great, these ones are kinda indie-style imho, however they aren't that usual commercial bandwagon sound.

I just recently dusted off my old copy of "The Smashing Pumpkins - Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness".

Such a classic album, imo.

Gallows and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club are both top recommendations.

Also, try some of The Verve's older albums (A Storm In Heaven, Urban Hymns) rather than the new one. It's a bit lacking in substance for the talent that they posses.

I'd recommend old school Less Than Jake and The Offspring. Iggy and The Stooges is always nice too. As for new stuff The Rapture has been putting out good stuff lately.

I already have all of The Offspring albums (the ones that are worth anything at least: Ignition, Smash, Ixnay, Americana...which is where it started to go downhill)

I'll check those other bands you suggested.

If you guys could help me by posting specific songs it would be great...It's kinda hard to identify the great ones by listening to 30 second samples or just watching YouTube videos of the singles.
