New KRK RP8 G2s

If all they do is perform to the same level, I prefer the look of the original RP8s. The original RB8s were one solid unit, with no visible screws or seams.

I think these new ones look like dog shit. Sorry if anyone owns a pair, but this is just my own personal opinion. I think I heard some tripe about the curved fronts giving better sound refraction or some bollocks like that.

I bet the original ones cost more money to produce, and this new design has improved the profit margin.

It looks like they might be attached to that centre panel. The original ones only had screws on the back.

I have to admit a slight bias - as I own the originals.

Not really, given that they perform exactly the same - the deciding factor has to be appearance.

And with looks that only a mother could love...... I'll stick with the mark one version.......

Well, they don't perform exactly the same - they in theory can't as the cabinet has changed shape considerably.

Is it any better or worse? Who knows? Either are still good speakers...

I have the original ones and like them to pieces! They perform well and to be honest I like the design of the old one's more than the new ones.
