Acts like Shpongle?
I just listened to a live recording of Shpongle from an event in New York and it was absolutely fantastic. What other groups do live PAs with the same style as Shpongle. I already have Kraftwerk and Chemical Bros. on my list, but I'm looking for something more melodic.
You should try Younger Brother..Simon Posford is on this project to..

Ticon do a trancier PA type thing. There's clips from one or two on youtube.
Melodic you say? The Field
Both of Ott's albums: Blumenkraft and Skylon.
Bonobo
Shpongle have a very unique and distinct sound which is hard to find among other artists in the same vein!
However, I'd suggest you check out artist such as Celtic Cross ( Incl Posford ),
Shulman, Androcell, Carbon Based Lifeforms, Ishq, Puff Dragon, Soundbreakers, and Bluetech.
Enjoy!
Shpongle is quite unique... but you could try out Younger Brother (one of Simon's side projects), Ott (label mate), Entheogenic, Androcell, Adham Shaikh, Kaminanda, Pitch Black, and Kaya Project for some variety.

. Way better then younger brother. Also check out the infinity project (has raja ram), tbh I love raja ram, simons solo stuff isn't so great... needs a good influence. Hence why shpongle (ily raja ram) and celtic cross (ily youth) are so good. If you love the funness of shpongle, def check out the infinity project, they've done both ambient and goa trance (1200 mics first 3 albums aren't bad either, but they are very love/hate). Kraftwerk/chemical bros are nothing like it. Closest thing would probably be 1200 mics, although their latest album is absolutely shit. | quote: |

Thanks for the Infinity Project recommendation. This stuff is just what I was looking for
*ahem*
JUNO REACTOR
That should do it. I saw them perfom in Los Angeles sometime last week and recorded lots of GREAT video. I guess I should edit+upload already...
But really, check them out!!!
Kick Bong
Aes Dana
Vibrasphere (some of their stuff is ambient)
Younger Brother, definately.
The Last Days of Gravity is a wonderful album.

Really? What's the difference Mr King of All Genres?

| Originally posted by Darkarbiter Juno reactor are good, and they're mostly goa/acid trance/ambient... |

| Originally posted by basilisk That is a weak assessment. Juno Reactor is one of those acts that transcends genre. Electronic music with real thought behind it isn't that common... and you demean it by simply referring to it as (of all things) "acid trance" or whatever, which isn't even remotely accurate. |
I heard Hallucinogen is still throwing gigs..
Do Telefon Tel Aviv do live PA? It's be pretty cool if they did.

| Originally posted by Darkarbiter Their first album was borderline acid trance, and they had acid influences on the second... I never said they weren't unique, but they're hardly anything like shpongle apart from being the general psy/goa and related crossovers. |

I would check out Deadmau5 ( spelled with a five at the end) and DJ tisto (also spelled tiesto).
