Male Domination

Just curious as to what everyone thinks as to why the trance/progressive music scene is so incredible male dominated in all aspects -- from music production to Djing to club attendance. Other musical generes seem to be more mixed male/female. Its interesting because when you think trance/prog DJs, about 95% that come to mind are male. Production seems an even higher % and we all know too well the sausage-fest that too often takes place in clubs. Any ideas?
