Forgot to mention this is all ambient/drone/noise work.

I will lock myself in a dark closet, take some acid, and listen to this.

Thanks Joss.

Joss, this set is exceptional. The music/noise/sounds in the tracks are really well done. Congrats. When I'm rich, can I sign you to my label?

Seriously, dude, good stuff.

Thank you for sharing.

Ambient-lover here, downloading...

I've thought of putting together a set of my tunes before.

Thanks again.

I started out like 2 years ago or so to make an album, but nothing ever came of it. I had the first two tracks, and only Sand Leaper has the first one, and the second one was lost in a HD crash.

I should probably start working on a more concise series of tracks.

I have a couple ambient tracks done at the moment, and I'm currently debating whether just to post them or wait until I have more to put together an album.

The problem with me is that I start like five or six tracks, but only have a few bars and end up being annoyed or too lazy to work on it any further. I probably get about one track every two months that I feel like releasing.

That EP though I have, I did all those tracks in the span of week!

A number of tracks in this collection were tracks like that... stuff I put some time into but never could properly finish. Tracks 1, 2, and 4 especially. Four is one I would like to add to.

I will have to check out your stuff.

Yep, I do the exact same thing. I'll come back to those "four-bar tracks" again and again, but I usually end up not completing them. But it seems like every so often there's a time when I just have inspiration and I can write a track or two straight through in the space of one or two days.

Cool, hope you enjoy.

will give it a listen simply for the fact that it's all produced by yourself.

haven't checked out any of your work before.

i'm listening now (maybe halfway through) and i have to say it's pretty... how to best put this... eclectic. it'll really take one with an appreciation for the music making process and an attention to minute detail (which i like to think of myself as a 'yes' for both cases) more so than those that just look for pleasurable listening - to really respect what this set brings to the table.

i guess the first impression that i got is that this is "different" and definitely not something i'd share with everyone simple because they wouldn't have any appreciation or (frankly) patience for.

edit: and to some extent "meditation music". i was just laying down and closed my eyes and definitely felt something.

haha thanks! Drone, especially glitchy noise drone like what most of this is, certainly isn't for everyone! I believe someone quoted this style as "music for pretentious chin strokers" and it does seem to be that style.

The sample is from Better Luck Tomorrow.

Thanks for the listen. If you want to check out other new works there are some things in the producers forum as well and my Last.fm page has some other tracks too.

This is terrible... I love it!

Edit: may have been asked before but how did you go about mixing this?

Adobe Audition, pre-mixed. I mixed it for Saturday Ourboard Radio (group of TAs that do online radio on Saturdays) a few months ago.

Thanks for pointing me to some of your work. I choose this mix to listen first since it is your "own", literally.

Drone, noise, abstract sounds are always a pleasure for my ear, especially in some specific situations. I listened to that set while mid-evening and I must say its one very deep set. My image while listening was a travel. A long-distant travel, across a land never seen by my eyes before. A land that is partly forgotten by humanity. I am like watching through the window and stare at all these sites, new places and landscapes.

Some of the odd sounds remind me of old radios, or forgotten factories, barely working gas station and things like these. It definitely has a darker feel in the mix, but that is typical for that style anyway. And in many circumstances, darker is better!

Thanks again for pointing me out to the mix. A very nice one!

Thanks a lot!

I have another self-works collection coming out soon, but I have been struggling to find a good play order. I think I need to get a few more new tracks in there.

Thanks again, glad you enjoyed it!

This was quite good. I mainly listen to drone and ambient when I'm sleeping so I'm not really all that worldly on it nor do I listen to it on a regular basis and try to delve further into it. This set, for what it's worth, was right up my alley though.
