Review: Triple Threat
holy fuck what a night.... didnt get a chance to check much of the other rooms cuz the main room was just bonkers. tommy dropped a nice techno/techhouse/minimal set which was recorded which will be posted later. greg benz came on and dropped some nice big room prog.... then max came... and fuck.... he banged it out..... my electric violining was meh cuz i couldnt hear my violin even with the monitor speakers at full blast.... i apologize for turning up the volume on my violin and blasting it too loud..
ps... this is Justin
I got there @ 3 and was really upset to see that Max had finished playing earlier than said.
Other than that it was good times saw many ppl that i love seeing and bumping into!
Justin you suck :P just kidding good job
The entire party was well done. We stayed till about 2:30, and Max's set was pure bliss. I was amazed at his mixing, so damn smooth every single time.
It was nice to see a party of this caliber in London, I'm grateful everytime they come around.
P.S. Ruckus stole the show, hands down, damn it, that guy impresses me every single time.
Yeah Ruckus a bomb dj!!! Awesome guy too

his mixing was insanely good with ableton. very similar to gilles bernards (the closing dj). actually max said to gilles that they use ableton the same way although gilles also uses a trigger finger. my body hates me today. 4 days of djing/events def caught up to me today. was going over the vids from last night and wasn't too happy with my performance. i just couldnt hear myself. maybe i was too close to the monitor but def some tuning isues + volume problems lol. kind of embarassed actually but oh well. good times nevertheless. props to the people who came from out of town to see the show from detroit to toronto or even further. next up steve porter november 22nd
I arrived @ 8:30 for sound check with Justin. I got on the decks by 9pm. By 10 oclock there were about 50 people in the door. I handed over the decks to Greg Benz around 11 pm for him to play a great progressive set.
I recorded mine and gregs sets.. I listened to a bit of mine this morning and the volume is to low. I am going to see if I can boost the volume some how.
Max Graham came on around 12:30-1pm. His set was great! He finished around 3am.
Gilles came on right after Max and ripped a solid tech/tribal set.
Thanks for those of you who came out to support this event. I believe this is one of the best parties we have had in London.
this party was mental, Max just killed it, jesus, Greg did awsome as well. and Geezer was just killing it. Great party ive been to in a very long time

TUUUUUUNE!
hey justin, thanks for setting the tickets aside for Helen and me...
i had a great night, got there around 11. greg benz was okay, a little bit too mellow to get me excited. wandered around the other rooms for a bit, what a huge venue. i went to school in london for seven years and never crossed paths with Tequila Rose or whatever it used to be called. Got warmed up with some electro stuff with Melting Man, Max Graham passed by me so we headed back upstairs. room was full now, but still lots of room to dance which i love. I dug Max's set big time, he was playing harder than the last time i saw him at Footwork, but still lots of melody in there. Just chucky progressive/tech stuff. I really liked watching his fingers fly across the mixer, i like technical mixing as you know that what you are seeing/hearing is a unique performance.
some ridiculously messed up guy climbed on a speaker and then superman'd into the dj booth. i thought for sure he was going to land on max. even more amazing was that he didn't get kicked out and i saw him smoking on the dance floor two hours later. security was texting away. weak weak weak.
sound was perfect, loud but not deafening. enjoyed the lighting as well. i think the main room at Rumrunners is perfect for house events.
i found the treble on your violin to be a little piercing justin, but that makes sense if you couldn't hear yourself in the monitors...it was quite loud from where i was. otherwise it was different and i enjoyed it.
i didn't like the beginning of gilles bernards set, but after awhile he started playing more latin/tribal stuff which is my favourite. my friend was getting tired so we left a little earlier than i would have liked, around 4:30.
all in all a good night and worth the drive from toronto.
