J:\Digital - Dream State (October 2008)
Just a fun set I recorded this weekend. I was pretty messed up for it, so not really sure how it turned out..
Anyways, enjoy some old classics with some new skool touch.
Cheers

BTW can you link one of your first mixes, I can't remember what it was called, but I think it was august last year... and it had sun project-these guys, and you wondered whether there were too many psytars. |
Yeh thats the one. Linksies?
p.s. I'd post a review too... but I'm usually far too tired all the time and it'd probably come out as a 3 paragraph jumbled mess.

Listening:
Oh very nice first track, very groovy and with a nice ethnic sample at the beginning. I think I heard it before somewhere but now at least I know what it is. Great opening.
I was never a fan of Psycraft. This track is also nothing really astonishing. Ok transition into it but that guitar.... urgh.
Nice transition into the next track. Almost passed unnoticed.
But somehow, when the track starts fully, I think the volume level drops. Also a bit too dreamy track which, imo, is not so suitable after that Psycraft track. Anyway the track itself is ok. Picks up a bit in the end!
Next track strikes. Decent track, energetic enough to keep the things moving but nothing to remember really.
The next track is where I start to sense how things are picking up! Much better than the previous one!
26 min -> awesome!
Oh Sirius Isness, love this act. And this track is very good.
LOL at the Mario samples (38 min)
Well I couldn't write for the rest of the tracks separate thoughts because I had to do some work for my french courses. But it was rolling quite ok until the end. 56 min track was AWESOME ! The only complaint is that I think People Can Fly does not belong to this mix. Imo, it kinda ruined the flow at the end. Oh and the voice sounds really funny when the track is picthed up so much.
Anyway a classic is a classic.
So, overall I liked the mix, one of your very good ones. Thanks for the share.
Tis on my phone now, and will get a battering tomorrow on the way in to work

Interested to see what you've done here as I'm not the biggest fan of Psychedelic around (generally too fast for me). Downloading now.

| Originally posted by kr00t0n I may have embellished slightly, but I've plenty of prog-psy with a native bpm of 127-130, it's like the house music of the psy world. |

Well I'm still a psy noob, only been listening to it for 3 years, just going on what I've noticed, I might even be getting genre names wrong, hehe

Oh yeah, I listened to this on the way in to work.
Not really my cuppa, I'm swiftly going off the faster full-on stuff.
The Mario song did make me chuckle though, and on the whole, the mixing was pretty tight
Progpsy - 130-140
Morning/Full On - 140-146
Full On/Dark - 145+
That's about how I see it for the genres. There is a bit of overlap with the Full On, but Full-on has a fairly wide cross-section of styles/sounds. Hence defining it as above.
As for the set.. LOL thanks for the replies, good and bad. Your bound to get a "cheesy" tune like the Super Bros track when drunk and stoned..
The set wasn't released to impress, just a fun Saturday session I happened to record.
Always appreciate the feedback tho.
