It was MTV. People can pine for the "good ole' days of MTV" all they want (I tend to refer to those people as "idiots"), but from the moment "Video Killed the Radio Star" hit the airwaves anyone with half a clue knew it would head right down the tubes.

hands down the worst.

Pretty much all of the worst TV shows that have been created resided on the channel 'MTV'.

Don't forget VH1. I hope every single employee of both those channels dies some sort of horrible death.

Also, 75% of all shows that have ever, or will ever, exist on the Fox network.

How a company that produces so much utter shit can manage the number of gems they have is beyond me.

It always had to be a commercial channel focused on selling whatever stupid shit is likely to be popular amongst teenagers, but I see a difference between an MTV showing music vids during most of the day (however crap they were), giving occasionally a chance to alternative music, and having 1 or 2 interesting witty shows; and... the horrendous pile of shit MTV is now.

Listen Sugar Daddy, I grew up in South America and we had a pretty decent MTV.

We were a hybrid of queso americano and anglo-saxon milk,

In plain English, we had the Pink Floyd, Nirvana, Megadeth, Tool, Bloody Valentine

and this was before the Britney Spears, NSYNC, Backstreet Boys and all the new kids on the block at the time,

I never enjoyed the 'popcorn', but another man's garbage is another man's treasure .

Latin MTV was infinitely better than the original... I reckon that doesn't mean much, because the original was also worse than ours

I guess I agree in general, but just meant that MTV has always tryed to distill the popular culture of which it's a part into blander and blander, more broadly palatable, easy to digest packages, and that the fact this was apparent from the very beginning should leave no one surprised that MTV has degenerated into the slutty, shallow, "OK-looking" girl who even the laziest of assholes can get into.

I guess I just feel like I've always known it would get to the point it's at - from the very first moment I understood what "MTV" was, I knew they were a fucked up economics project in pop-culture entropy.
