????? Do You Have Video Footage of Early Raves in Toronto??????

Music Documentary is seeking footage of raves/afterhours parties
in Toronto. Ideally late 80s (Twilight Zone) or early 90s (23 Hop)
and early WEMF events.
Will pay $ for compensation and provide a credit in the film.

Youtube's a great place to start, but sometimes
the videos are not submitted by the owners of the footage.
I'm trying to find people this way so it's easier to get
the rights, etc.

I don't remember ever bringing cameras or video cameras with me to raves....it wasn't really something we wanted caught on video.

Man I wish I'd have gone to one of the raves that I was invited to back in the highschool days...

But I was into the alternative rock thing and believed in the "E is heroin" thing...

But if I'd have fallen in love with the scene back then, like I did much later on, who knows where my life would've ended up...

I'd be very interested in this film...

Maybe try collecting the names of the old promoter groups, and trying to track down the owners/heads and asking them?

i have a friend who probably has tons of footage of parties.....not sure about twilight zone or 23 hop...(meeeemories!) i'm pretty sure lots from early wemf's tho..if u send me a private message i can connect you with her..

i do have a buddy also who has footage from idance..

iirc Rick Toxic has a huge video archive of older material. you might have better luck finding sources on sites like Tribe.ca if you haven't already tried. TOTA only started to pick-up in numbers around late 2003/early 2004 and a lot of the people here didn't get into the scene until well into this decade. best of luck with your search and documentary.

Lars and I were filmed in a documentary a few years ago at WEMF. We never ended up seeing it though.

One of my profs was really into the rave scene and went to the first WEMF. I don't think he teaches at my school anymore though, otherwise I would have asked him.

I look forward to seeing the documentary when it's done.

I have some videos from the Dose parties I was invloved in from 94-99 timeframe but I'll have to go digging through some boxes at my parents basement...

There are some Facebook groups that have old flyers and pics/vids too like this one.
