A trance DJ who used to be far more popular than he is now.

When I first got into trance, him, Oakenfold, Tiesto, and PvD were the names.

lol. He was America's Trance DJ. Had some nice remixes and mix compilations in the mid to late 90's. He use to tear down Shadow Lounge in Miami and play at some huge warehouse parties/raves in the area.

Another guy from Miami that never got as big and was just as good if not better was George Alvarado. His late 90's DJ sets and radio shows "Late Night Laboratory" were phenomenal.

Hey Denny...big difference between playing multiple styles and being a bandwagon jumper. I've never liked the guy as a DJ

ohh no way dude! Bandwagoning is where it's at. Remember when Deadmau5 first came out? EVERYONE that was ANYONE was bumping his shit.

I can't say anything about what he plays now but he was a part of two massive nights for me back in 1999 at Shadow Lounge

Posted by Maka08 on Oct-10-2008 19:10:

Never was really into him, but he's not bad.

Posted by TranceArmstrong on Oct-10-2008 19:17:

I liked his 'The Lost World' comp

not sure what he's up to recently

Mellodrama was absolute shit

Posted by Clovis on Oct-10-2008 19:19:

One of the worst DJs I have ever seen. And that was when I still enjoyed a lot of trance.

He has fucking terrible, terrible taste...

Posted by Maka08 on Oct-10-2008 21:57:

Didn't he have that one song "Taking Over Space" ?

Posted by sweds00 on Oct-10-2008 22:34:

He's an ass as well.
Sooo high on himself.
He is like 5 foot nothing to boot.

I've got a few of his cds in my collection and I'd say that they are decent compilations. He also helped produce a track called Look into My Eyes by Planet Soul which is a solid track. Not too sure about his current status however.

I enjoyed "The Reaper"

saw him in 2002 or so, never will again...

Posted by Paradox Lost on Oct-11-2008 01:01:

Although I'm not familiar with what he had going for him during the late 90's, my impression of him has always been that he was one of those second tier Trance DJ's who never quite made it into the ultra big leagues.

His mix compilations seem like they could pass for a generic version of what any number of equally or lesser popular Trance DJ's are doing right now.

Posted by Lebezniatnikov on Oct-11-2008 20:20:

I saw him. Left early.

Posted by maluco on Oct-11-2008 22:21:

Set U Free was a big hit in 1996.

i enjoyed it alot.

Hey Laura, i don't have any questions atm, but, how about a drink?

Really? I don't know if I would take it that far.

I saw George a couple years back in Dallas and he had a pretty kick ass set. One complaint I have is that he did seem kinda pissed off the whole time. Overall good set though.

And Laura question for you? Was the song with George feat. Truth called Trust ever released as a single or for download anywhere? I'm pretty sure there is a Mike Shivers Catching Sun remix of it but I was never able to find it or ever able to find an extended version of the original. Just wonderin cus I think the tarck is incredible and is needed in my cd book!!

As I noted the first time this thread was made, I once saw George Acosta spin a rave at a used car dealership in Neenah, WI.

No jokes.
