Educational Edition Software
Anyone purchased any products of this kind?
Is there any limitations on it? Software only works with 1 computer or you only get 1 installation, etc?
Thinking about getting Traktor at the educational price, dirt cheap.
Anyone know any sites btw?

Nope, should be the full thing. Check with the company anyway.
I bought Ableton Live 7 as a student and the only difference is that I got it cheaper

most educational versions can't be updated, like djcami said with logic. gotta think about that. if you want to upgrade to the next version later on, you're most likely gonna have to buy the full program again. it might end up costing you more because of that in the end.

Originally posted by Fledz Err...no. Like I said, they are the full product just cheaper. Apple must be the only company who does this, but to be fair afaik they are fully upgradeable. Like I said, check with the company. An email takes 1min to write.
Got Cubase Studio 4 academic version.. it's the exact same thing. I'm able to get updates for it as well.

Originally posted by skip i'm only going by what i've heard. and mostly, i've heard that they cannot be upgraded. i think the student versions of adobe products are like that also. of course different companies might have different policies on this, so it's best to confirm how it goes, so you don't have to regret in the future.

Educational versions are limited to 1 install and it is unable to be re-sold later. You can upgrade it with a standard update later on though.
