Review: Platform @ Cherry Beach

What a perfect day for a surprise Cherry Beach party. I decided to walk down from my place which took about 50 minutes but it was perfect weather to be outside. Got there around 4:30 and found a place under a tree and chilled out. I was surprised at how empty the beach was but I didn't mind as I wasn't in the mood for a crazy day.

Graham, Shanny, Arron, Bobby slowly showed up and by the time the sun had set there was a good sized crowd there. Music was good for the environment and I really like the girl who was playing when I got there (I'm sure I've seen her out before but no idea who she was).

Left just after 9 due to work.

It was a great way to chill and enjoy the weather and an end to a great long weekend.

Thanks for putting this on.

Oh I forgot - sketchy conversation I "overheard"

"don't you just love it when a song makes you feel like you're solving a mystery?"

OMG, I swear I've used a similar statement to this in the past. Love it.

Couldn't make it out...had to work today.. Been up for 40+ hours. Ugh. Glad it was good though. Jamie always owns.

I had a fantastic time. Nice and chill, with some great tunes. The women who was playing before Simon Jain was pretty good, and had some nice light crowd pleasers. Simon came on and laid down some proper tunage, with groovy, chunky, spacey, and a bit of chill. Great for a sunset set. He even managed to play an old fav: PQM/ Hernan Cataneo - You are sleeping.

The guy after Simon, laid it down. As the crowd gathered, so did the momentum in his set. It seemed like that is what the people were waiting to hear, because by the end there was a good sized crowd just dancing and having a good time.

Wonderful seeing familiar faces, and loved the picnic feel. BTW - that dog was epic fast, and loads of entertainment!

Bahahahahahahahaha...

*gasp*

hahahahahahaha!

That was definitely the defining moment of last night. Now whenever I'm doing the chin-stroke and somebody asks me why I'm not dancing, I'm going to say, "Sshhh, I'm solving a mystery!"

I'm still in awe that this party even happened; massive respect to Platform for making this happen! It turned a merely good weekend into a truly great weekend.

In conclusion: Yes, yes, yes, and more yes.

P.S. Apparently Tribers aren't so bad once you get to know 'em.

Waking up on Monday morning to find the email announcing this jam made my day!! It was ideal weather for this party so i had to head down soon after 7 on bike, which was enjoyable on the holiday monday, crusing through the core with barely any traffic. So right as i arrived Terrence Kissner droped PQM - You Are Sleeping!! which was great to hear for sure. Later on Greg Gow dropped the best set of the night in my opinion. With lots of familiar tracks, in the tech range. Had a great time groovin to the beats till about 11 when i called it a night. Best Impromtu party! Awesome way to close the thanksgiving weekend. Props to the Platform crew for throwing this jam!!!

*deep sigh of satisfaction*

That was fun. Kudos to Platform for taking advantage of the glorious weather (and global warming, lol) and throwing this.

So pleased to be down at the beach again, it was rather trippy to see the trees in their autumn mode and the sand covered with leaves. Chill beats, a beautiful sunset and then it was all things techy as the night progressed. Hearing the PQM track again was soooo good and Jamie Kidd and Greg Gow were my highlights. Really pleased with the turnout, a nicely sized crowd of like minded people out for good music and not a huge overwhelming mass.

p.s. DigiNut, yep... Tribers really are nice.

I forgot to mention that. It was great being down with the colours and the earlier sunset.

What an amazing and unexpected day. Yesterday was almost like a gift with the good weather, and Platform made that day so much better by providing us with one last chance to dance it up on Cherry Beach before the winter comes.

Thanks to all involved.
