How to set up a Podcast???

Just wondering if anyone knows how to go about setting up a podcast???

I am looking for a free and easy way to set one up, if that is possible.

All advice and help appreciated.

Google is your friend.

Podcast is just simple mp3 with some additional information to view on the ipod.

But how do I convert my mp3 files into a podcast??? Do I need to go through a hosting company or what???

You just need the software.

You don't need to convert the MP3 file. You probably want to ensure it's not higher than 192Kbps (or people get annoyed downloading them), but other than that it's just a regular MP3 file.

You can also use Apple's AAC format, which allows you to insert markers and artwork that appear in iTunes or on and iPod when you play them back. Garageband on the Mac allows you to do this easily, not sure how you would do this on Windows.

Aside from the file format choice, you then need:

1. A host to store the files.
2. The properly formatted XML file describing the RSS feed (which is what a podcast really is, an RSS feed for an audio file).

You can then submit a link to the RSS feed to iTunes and other podcast listing sites, so that it'll appear in search results.

There are a ton of tools out there, and even some hosting services that will do the technical stuff for you. Google around.
