Spartan Workout

A lot of high quality exercise in this video using little to no equipment. I've been doing stuff like this for maybe a few months (fuck paying the gym) and I'm getting results! You'd be surprised how good of a workout this is...

If you're like me, simply take ten minutes in your bedroom, put on some energetic music (Paul van Dyk at Nature One 2007 for myself) and get this shit done!

The freeze frame looks enticing.

Iv seen these and they look a bit intense. I enjoy just jogging for 45 minutes, and doing 10 pound weights high repetition. If i bust out the 20 pound weights i cant do as many, and i want to get cut, so small weight high repetition will work fine.

Plus i doubt i can ever look like those douchebags in 300.

I've been meaning to try something like this at high intensity and non stop. I'm gonna try it in between days at the gym and see how it goes.

You slowly build up to it. I used to be an elite athlete for basketball when I was younger so over the years I've gotten ready for high intensity work outs. There's no reason why you can't get to this within 6 months, it just takes a lot of effort. Yes, the first month or two are fucking excruciatingly horrible but it gets better and easier the more you do it

I used to play basketball in highschool and i think i could only do 20 push-ups back in the day too. I am just not strong, or ever wanted to get stroner.

Now i wanna get cut though, so i guess i need to get to work. I would try to see how many pushups i can do right now but i am drinking wine and i am kinda drunk.

Pullups are my only problem with this one. Definitely can't do 30 with my fatass. everything else is manageable. might implement this for my days off (right now i do monday/wednesday/friday + sunday soccer match).

Posted by mezzir on Oct-15-2008 03:42:

fuck man
i used to be able to do just about all that without too much problem, now my knees kill after literally 1 minute of running
fucking bullshit

not to mention i went to a specialist and they couldn't identify anything specifically wrong, just want me to do physical therapy to strenghten the muscles around it to make up for it. that ain't a cure, thats a fucking fix i did exactly that years ago and when i stop the routine for a few months all the progress is gone

no. just good genetics... bad joints though that's why i need the day off.

but i just started after gaining a shitload of weight over the last year basically sitting in the office and eating like shit. i went to an audition at the end of august and the casting director was like "yeah you need to slim down".

i was 35-45 lbs over my college weight (i played soccer throughout). I was 190ish getting out of school and was like 225-35 when i started middle of september.

my routine is pretty simple:

Monday - 30 minute run (about 3 miles). Chest/back and abs (200 various situps/crunches.
Tuesday off - light ab work (maybe 150 crunches). some shooting and dribbling for 45 minutes.
Wednesday - 30 minute run (~3 miles). Shoulders and legs + abs (200ish)
Thursday off - abs and the U-14 team I coach practices on thursdays so i do some running and drills with them. kick the ball around and scrimmage.
Friday - 30 min run. Biceps/triceps + abs.
Saturday - light jogging (a mile or so at a light pace). The team I coach has their games on saturdays so i stick around afterwards and find an open net and do some shooting.
Sunday - I play with a bunch of eastern europeans every sunday - we either have a game for our club team or have a pick up game (7on7 sometimes 9on9).

and start all over again. it'll take around 3 months to get anywhere near back in shape but if i stick it out it'll do wonders for my health and my acting career. image is everything these days.

sidenote: the 30 minute runs (or any of the running by myself) i do in the morning after i wake up. and hit up the gym for all the weights after work. abs i'll either fit in right after my run (the best time to do it - you'll burn a lot more calories with your muscles warmed up) or after the weights.
the sunday games are always in the morning too (9 am).

always do some workouts in the morning - it's a good way to get your metabolism kick-started for the rest of the day.

at work i try not to sit around as much anymore. take 15 min breaks every couple of hours and go for a walk or something. i have a good day job where people are cool with it.

You think I haven't noticed that you are trying to hide the fact that today was your 18th birthday?

Yeah, it said 'Domesticated (18)' and now it only says 'Domesticated' ?

Why is that funny

As far as I knew, representing your state and being in all sorts of high performance training squads is a junior elite level, but hey what the hell do I know
