Setting VLC as OS Media Player for Rapid Evolution (OSX)

Hi I was hoping someone could tell me how to set VLC as the OS media player on the OSX version of RE. I hit 'select' under options->audio and point it to applications/VLC.app but instead of selecting VLC.app, RE thinks it is a folder and expands it. Therefore I can't select VLC as the OS media player. Can someone please help? Thanks
