What is the best Intro and Outro track you ever heard?

Well i was just thinking some tracks are perfect for an intro or outro and some sets and (mix)cd's have a beautiful intro and/or outro

I could not choose one and forgot many of them but finally i got this:

Intro:
Dibaba - Hold You (Agoria's Bear Remix)
- I'm dying when I hear this one: some mystrious sound in the beginning and then that beautiful melody. I loved it when Tisto started his sets at ibiza with this track at sunset. Ultimate (summer)feeling

Outro:
Fennesz - Rivers of sand
- This was a hard choice but i finally picked this one: James holden used this track to end the first CD of this "At The Controls" mix. That CD is one of the bests i ever heard and this outro too. I like the Alva Noto track Richie Hawtin uses these days too but it's almost the same..

So What are your favorites? And Why?

Intro...

"The Dance Planet - Orbit".

Words cannot explain how perfect this tune is.

Outro is very Genre specific.

One I am very fond of is "Queeker - Outstreamream".

As lunar phase 7 says, it's subjective. For trance there's anything from the tiesto remix of silence with a long long intro to something proggy & vocal like Human Movement feat sophie moleta - Love has come again

However my top 2 in this case, trance, will goto Orkidea

Marc Mitchell & Orkidea - Eternal Love
Nightwish - Bye Bye Beautiful (Orkidea Remix)

Outro wise it's again subjective but I kinda like stuff that really breaksdown a lot, similar to the frank TRAXX stuff, S.H.O.K.K. stuff etc, but my choice off the top of my head will be

Nitromethane - Time to Die (Seraque Remix)

because I don't like to hear anything after it, therefore for me personally it's a good ending track

I always liked 'Way Out West - Killa' as an intro

Posted by wax10001 on Oct-16-2008 16:03:

intro: cold - strobelight network

outro: moritz von oswald - watamu beach rework

The classic intro track has to be Moonshine

Right guys, do yourself a favour and listen to this beast of an intro...

I love sets with good intro's and opening tune is gradual

so i made my own track like that called Elementia

the outro to Jaime Jones - 911 is pretty cool.

Listen to the sample people.

Intro: Gareth Emery vs Lange - Another You Another Me(Gavyn Mytchel rmx)

Outro: Saltwater The Legacy (Alphazone Mix)

tisto- elements of life intro

Here's a bunch that I've really come to appreciate, and though I'll probably edit this with more selections, for right now:

Intro:

Space Manoeuvres- Part Three (Pole Folder Remix)
Bjork- Kindness Kind (Delikate Imposters remix)
Pete Moss- Strive to Live (16b remix)
Keane- Untitled1 (Elusive remix)
Ripperton-Fara
Abonne- Ante Aeon
M83- Don't Save Us From the Flames (Superpitcher remix)
Minilogue- In a Distance
Minilogue- The Leopard (Extrawelt remix)
Grand National- Talk Amongst Yourselves (Sasha Inolver remix)
-That Grand National remix was just the perfect intro to that release, and one of the best intro tracks I've come across. Good stuff!

Outro:

Hermann and Kleine- Leaving you Behind
PQM- Nameless (Chab 2 mix)
Sonorous- Second Sun (Leama & Moor remix)
Holden- The Wheel
Stel- Infinity

beautiful track mate, but an intro?

It's just a bassdrum for 50 seconds then the basscomes in.

Actually, I was thinking about the little intro edit Hernan Cattaneo puts together for his Renaissance: Masters, vol 2 mix comp.

If you haven't heard it, it has a really nice, building ambient intro that slowly brings in that heavy kickdrum. Although I agree that, by itself, it's not a very graceful intro track (at first), it seems to work really well once it all comes together.

Would love to hear that, any chance you could up a sample?

Also there will be serious trouble if no one listens to that sample I put up.

Sounds a bit like the version with vocals of:

Solarstone - The Calling Only I meant the version which also has female vocals and a bit more power. Have it on cd but never heard it somewhere else.

Check this oldie album :

God's Groove - Elements of Nature (1994)

http://www.discogs.com/release/200896

Track 1 is the intro to track 2. Great.

Many probably never heard of God's Groove so here are track 2 and 9 of the album:

God's Groove - Back To Nature

God's Groove - Back to nature (Pure Hemp Mix)

My personal favourite for intro - outro, but also build-up and breakdown is:

Jam & Spoon - Follow Me (12:28) (track is too long for youtube )

LOL that phrase reminds me of this advert I saw for Viagra

"Would you like to be ready for sex in only ten minutes?"

Erm, who the fuck needs ten minutes to be ready for sex? Seriously.

Nice, never heard at all. Thanks for listening, half of Jam and Spoon are dead are they not? Pretty sad, but imagine having people still falling in love with your tracks even after you've gone. Now that is what you call making an impact.

Been using Simon Flower - Past Perfect as an intro recently. Not sure what my all time favorite would be though.

Thumbs up

Thumbs up to this thread I often find Intros are often the best tracks DJs ever produce because they are designed to set a narrative for the set in which to guide the listener along

This Year my Favorite Intro (which this exact version has not ever been released publically) is Ferry Corsten feat Howard Jones-into the dark (ferry intro dub fix) it can be heard in the intro to Trance Energy 2008 Ferry Corsten's Set

Some of my other all time favorite trance intro's include

Noa Assembly-Into the Fire (In Search of Sunrise 3)2002
The Doppler Effect-Beauty Hides in the Deep (The Blizzard Intro Mix)2008
Cressida-No More Lies (Original Mix)2007
Armin Van Buuren-Unforgivable (First State Remix)2008
Iio-At the End (Scumfrog Remix)
Alex Gold-String Theory (Politics of Dancing Volume 2)2005
James Zabiela-Human (Intro Mix)2008
Arksun-Arisen (Original Mix)2005
Tiefschwarz feat Tracey Thorn-Damage(Buick Project Renaissance Intro Mix) 2006
York-The Awakening 199?
Don-E-Don Perignon 1997
4mal-Twilight (Martin Garcia Remix)?
Rob De Lacey-Starlight(Sonic Element Remix) 2008
The Auranaut-People Want to Be Needed (Tiesto Intro Edit)2000
2003
Rising Star-Star Theme (Boundaries of Imagination)1998
Matt Rowan & Jaytech-Blaze (Original Mix) ?
York-The Reachers of Civilisation (In Search of Sunrise)1999
Grace-Not Over Yet (BT's Spirit of Grace Mix)1995 Oakie's 12/31/99 EM

Outro
Michael Burns-We will fade (HC Edit) 2005
Peter Lazonby-Sacred Cycles (Derek Howell Mix)?

my favorite intro track of all time is pretty hard to come by
Randall Jones-DJ's Set You Free 2006

Another honorable mention- Grand National-Talk Amongst Yourselves (Involver)2004

+1

Some others that spring to mind:

Aria - Dido (AvB Universal Religion Mix) - from Summerbreeze
Solar Stone - 3rd Earth (heard a mix on the DJP forum where someone managed to bring this tune together from the ground up so f'in nicely)
Invisible Inc - Stars (Ambient Mix)

The best for was probably something Matt Darey knocked up in about 5mins for this Euphoria album. I was listening to CD2 the other day in the car and the intro into 'Don't Give Up' was fantastic!

Erik Prydz/Pryda is one of the best producers ever especially at his height, which set are you referring to?
