Office Nark's
Does your office have one? Do you know who it is? Are you it?
The way I see it - If you're fucking up in the workplace, that is NOT my problem. But if it's something that is going to affect MY work, or might potentially get the whole office in trouble (no bonus' for your stupid behavior), I WILL rat you out (anonymously). I am NOT losing my job over your dumbass actions, end of story. Times are tough, it's not as easy as it used to be to find a new job.
I don't have an office... what happens then?
Nark as in... telling on people for drugs? Unless they're bringing drugs into the office, why the fuck do you care?
oh ffs "nark" is not only used for drug finders.
nark Slang
Verb
to annoy
Noun
1. an informer or spy: copper's nark
2. Brit someone who complains in an irritating or whining manner [probably from Romany nāk nose]
Learn your vocabulary people.
Narc!
Edit: By the way, there's no one for me to spy on where I work, and no one to spy on me.
You did a wonderful job of describing what the problem was in your office. Are people being annoying and fucking up your job?
oh nothing actually in my office, my girlfriend has one in her office... she hates her lol, so I wondered who else has them in theirs.
I would call out anyone to their face if what they were doing could result in me losing my job. I've already called out people for talking shit at my last job. Whether it was in private or in front of my manager and the boss. I'm not really scared to let someone know that I don't like them or what they're doing if I feel that I have to.
Anyone who isn't a completely spineless coward or idiot would do the same. I would tell them directly before going to the higher ups in all cases, because if you are risking my job with your bullshit, I won't be too happy about that. Maybe I'm an asshole, but I won't be nice or whiny about something like that. I've been in confrontations with co-workers that have almost gotten physical. I know it sounds so childish but when you work with a bunch of men, you'll find that they tend to get in each other's faces. Men tend to be more direct and aggressive, women more indirect and diplomatic. Not always, but usually.
I will verbally embarrass you and do my best to get you to stop doing what you're doing, or have you eliminated from the workplace. I don't think that's unfair, do you?
I'm not a narc, but if someone annoys me, I won't shut up about it.

women that go behind peoples backs and run their mouthes end up with anthrax on their tampax.
one of my coworkers is fucking obnoxious and sheisty and she thinks she is slick. i rat her out a lot because she does whatever the fuck she wants (overnights her car payment with the firm's postage) and my boss rarely catches her and she gets away with murder practically and yet if me or any other coworker even mess up printing an envelope or something retarded like that, he flips. a lot of this has to do w/ the fact that we all sit right near his office so he watches us like hawks, but this chick's desk is more towards the back so she comes in late a lot and doesn't get caught, and yet if the new file clerk is like 3 minutes late, she literally will say to her, "you need to get here on time" and she isn't even the office manager! lol she is demented.
she also just recently tried to sabotage the hiring of a new receptionist. she wanted my boss to hire her friend and he wasn't crazy about the idea but said he wanted to see what kind of resumes he got first before he made that decision. well she purposely wasn't giving him resumes or setting up interviews because she wanted him to cave and hire her friend. i went right to him and told.
i know i sound like a brat but my entire office hates this bitch, it's not just me. she is the most power hungry and pathetic person i have ever met. anyway, it's fun to get her in trouble because 90% of the time she walks around like she owns the place and when she gets busted and put in her place, we're all like AAAH HAAA!
wow i obviously had to vent. lol god i hate her.
oh and one more thing...i have on many occasions said stuff straight to her face so it's not like i just always tell on her. i am probably the only person in the office that she doesn't try her bullshit with because she knows i will straight up laugh in her face and call her out. it's just when she does things behind the whole firm's back and my boss is sitting there trusting this skank, i have to tell him because of the simple fact that i'm principled and fair.

it's happened several times too. someone heard i talked some shit and asked me and i was like, "yea i said that". they didn't even know what to do with themselves about my honesty. lol
Yea, we had an office narc. But we all knew who it was. But I stupidly trusted this person and kind of told them what I do when no one's looking, mainly multi-tasking on the internet and playing with excel.

We have one on our floor but it's a guy. I only found out because I walked into the wrong board room and over heard part of a conversation.

| Originally posted by Krypton Yes, SHE, snitched. Not on just me though. She would inform on everyone. Whether they were using the internet to watch a video or whatever. One of my co-workers had an especially nasty confrontation with her. I tend to stay out of office drama, but yeaaa.... |

| Originally posted by ziptnf God, fuck that bullshit. Everyone at my office knows we surf the internet in our downtime. Even my boss, he doesn't care that much as long as we get our shit done. He's a little bit of a stickler on that kind of stuff though, so if he sees us dicking around when he walks in, he either makes fun of us, or just yells "DO WORK". Anyone who snitched on me for goofing off would get a sharp foot up the ass after work. |

I put a Blackbox imitator for my windows skin, which means I have 4 workspaces, and with 2 monitors, that's 8 full screens to take up. Sometimes I'll be on the internet/instant message workspace when my boss walks in, and not on my work workspaces, and he'll get on my ass for not having something up on at least one screen. |

It's actually part of my professional practice standards to "rat out" people who aren't following the standards.
I had a huge issue with this last year with a nurse making HUGE med errors and covering them up. I didn't know what to do because I'm not actually registered yet, and the place I work isn't governed by the CNO. I asked my professors for advice and so now I just make photocopies of EVERYthing.
Nursing is pretty sweet that way though. There are plenty of measures in place to ensure those who are doing their job are protected. One's practice pretty much speaks for itself. Lazy/sloppy nurses get caught and investigated....and when they fuck up their names get published, haha.
