I like what I do, but I hate working. I'd rather sit at home and do nothing.

I'm definitely still getting my feet wet at work - but for the most part I really dig it as well. Plenty to do, time goes by quickly, and I get to work on some pretty neat and a super wide range of technologies.

What do you do?

Posted by Lira on Oct-21-2008 13:50:

Quite on the contrary, I love my job(s).

I work for a company that develops and manufactures commercial, medical, military, and residential technologies of all sorts. The company itself probably does most of its work in large scale wireless infrastructures, but the main project I'm working on right now are ultrasound machines that give eerily detailed images of a fetus. I do a combination of tech-work and EHS (environmental health/safety), and deal with a lot of the hazardous waste products from the process of creating circuit boards (i.e. lead, various heavy metals and chemicals used in the wash process, massive amounts of excess solder paste).

For the most part my groups (company is divided into teams of engineers, assemblers, technicians, etc. based on their client(s)) largest client is GE Medical.

Edit: Good lord grammar are hard.

Thereabouts of 50% of my work consists of browsing TA. So, I'd say it's not so bad. Except MD. Which is mostly just 5! talk.

Also, I'm just calling him 5! now.

I enjoy my job, but not trying to write a midterm that's due tonight during my breaks...

Nope, I love my job. I used to work retail before as a cashier and made minimum wage. The only thing I miss about that job was the amount of female friends I made from there since I was the only male cashier there. Now I work as a field technician for an engineering firm. The pay is better and I'm finally doing something relevant to my major, but no girls

Posted by Silky Johnson on Oct-21-2008 16:47:

Can't say that I do. I love my job.

Posted by Frenchie on Oct-21-2008 16:49:

I love everything about my job except for Akon.

Posted by lacksesepsotygh on Oct-21-2008 17:08:

i'd probably like my job if it didn't consist of 60-80 hour weeks
