John O'Callaghan in Toronto

Does anyone think this will EVER HAPPEN??!! I mean The trance scene in Montreal is exploding with new, and I use this term loosly tallent trance dj's. Not to long ago they had stoneface and terminal and now O'callaghan will be at circus. I think club owners/promoters here need to wake up abit and hear whats out there in terms of GOOD music.

Am I the only one that thinks so?

I'd pay money to hear that man on the decks without question.

In Toronto's defense (and I can't believe I'm defending t-dot), Stoneface & Terminal canceled at the last minute because of traveling arrangements.

But it doesnt look like the clubs seem to be suffering by playing ?Bad? music (House)...

He's here in 2 Saturdays and so excited to see him again! I was at ASOT350 and he was unreal there! Toronto should defo experience him

Simply, not enough people really know of him. You would have to bring him here on a night with a more well known dj, so John could open up for them, or close, what ever. Maybe get two people from his label at the same time? or bring him with one of the dutch cheese masters?

if menno, askew, kyau & albert, et al got booked in toronto, I'd argue that JOC is bigger name than those guys... (well at least at par)

Posted by smuncky on Oct-21-2008 15:51:

i'd easily go to montreal if there was a cheap way to get there.

Exactly, he's just as big if not bigger. The biggest problems with people like J'OC are

1) Price/Turnout ratio is not at par in the eyes of people like Guv, so it's not worth it to them
2) Guv is now the only venue with a promotion team that would be willing to bring him in and if they fail, so do your hopes.

1. in the main room, half the crowd will be skasians, so only half the venue needs to be full

2. bah. enough rant about trance scene in toronto

If JOC is going to come to Toronto...or more specifically Guv....it will have to be on an all access night.

Posted by 8Wonders on Oct-21-2008 16:28:

Not at Guvernment at least ... Guv already denied all the Discover DJs (JOC, Askew and the bunch)... I suppose to Guv they are just not 'important' enough for them to bring over.

+1

Askew played with CL, Dirty South & Laidback on Dec. 1st

John Askew last december was on fucking fire - he tore that shit up.
It was hard trance for sure, omg!

totally agree re: montreal, they've had Gareth twice!! And no Menno here since Jan/08 and Montreal had him twice as well. Plus JOC there; they're really booking it! (pun intended )

Totally disagree!
Jon O'Bir is a lesser known name than John O'Callaghan, and when we had him out to Rio last year the turnout was awesome! If we brought JOC to Toronto, I think the place would be PACKED!
(I'm definately looking into this guy)

Have you been living under a rock??? So him having the #1 track of last year is not a big deal? not to mention all of his productions that are being played by every "well known dj"?

Come on man, a person of his stature should not be opening for anyone.

there was an event in MTL in June I think that headlined Menno, I was there. It was like 6 hours or something. Absolutely sick.
