US T.V.s analog to digital thing

I've been seeing commercials about this. The government says in February 2009 that TVs must be in digital or something?

I'm just wondering if any of you can fill me in on this. Thanks!

Easier to collect data on people using digital.

In fact, were are already supposed to be all digital now but they've pushed the time line back...
