Underdog Unleashed: Hakim Guelmi (Xtended) @ Salon Daome Nov 19th

Underdog Unleashed: HAKIM GUELMI @ Salon Daome Nov 19th

Projektunderdog.ca is happy to introduce a new series of nights scheduled to debut at Salon Daome Nov 19th. These nights will consist of rare experimental audible extended sets from the underdogs and occasionally from their friends mixed with hypnotic visuals and many alcoholic beverages, we can only hope you'll be part of the Mix. These are underdogs unleashed, consider yourselves warned =)

VJ BANDIT (http://www.Projektunderdog.ca);
Since his first show at Velvet club on Valentines Day 2008, VJ Bandit has been one of the hardest working and most versatile VJs in Montreal. With over 40 live performances under his belt in only 8 months time, Bandit has left no stones unturned. His visuals have hypnotized and entranced crowds at some of the premiere EDM venues in Montreal. From the posh world of Socit des arts Technologiques and Club Opera, to the late-night/early morning ravers at Circus Afterhours Main Room. Projekt Underdog's flavorful techno parties are this VJs meat and potatoes, but his experience with parties has run the gamut. From techno, trance, house, hip-hop, hard rock, experimental indie rock, and even a wedding!, Bandit has done it all. His unique home-made nocturnal cinematics have also been present alongside international 'A-list' DJ's such as Preach, Ferry Corsten, and Eric Entrena. If theres good music involved, Bandit will be there. No bar is too small, nor club too big.

HAKIM GUELMI (http://www.Projektunderdog.ca);
For the first time ever, this November 19th, we shall hear an Xtended Techno set from none other than the ibizoid Hakim Guelmi (Projektunderdog.ca). Guelmi is 20 and already boasts a slew of solid gigs on his repertoire. With unmatched bone-shaking darkness that would have the pros smile in admiration, and an irresistible technical conviction in his sets, he exudes confidence and is starving to excel. Dazzling the young generation who are taking their first steps within the scene, Guelmis aggressive sound is influenced by pioneers such as Sven Vath, James Holden and Danny Howells. Believing in his art, he takes breaks between sets to vigorously promote and organize events.

Experience This

Posted by Mitsutranza on Nov-17-2008 16:55:

WHAT'S GOING ON HERE?

I haven't been around for ages, been busy with lots of shize's in my life, I come back here to see what? To see that not much has changed damn it. Trance nation, Rank 1, 16 bit lolitas...this is the big news on TA.

For the life of me i don't understand and never will why TAs, those ones that actually appreciate E.D.M. in all its shapes and forms, never or rarely come out for these kinds of events. You guys know what to expect from these big names that come once in a while now to Montreal, so why not come and experience something unpredictable, new, something that will remind you why you like E.D.M. in the first place. Why not change this trend of making huge TA lists for huge names, see who's choking and why etc. and actually make the effort to come out for a few hours or whatever and see this young DJ spin his shit. It's strange.

Some of you are probably not paying attention coz you know Hakim is my friend, and of course i would be bigging up my friend no matter what kind of music he plays. I don't really care what you might think, i just wanted to get the word out a few days before in hopes of waking some of you up to the Real Deal. You wanna hear underground, unfluffy, tekked up minimal shit? Come to Salon Daome. You wanna stay in your bubble, that's fine. If not, then give this guy a chance to prove how much you've been missing out on. You will not be disappointed.

Posted by brancatella on Nov-17-2008 23:39:

well put nick, but i know most people will stay in their bubble and to them tribe is about as underground as it gets to them haha..but as sad as our scene is (not that ive been around for all too long but its all too obvious) it really keeps the good music for the people who know and for the people always wanting to know MORE . not the mass. the people wanting new sounds, refined music, people willing to hear music theyve never heard before and dance to it all night. these type of people will be at daome, with hopefully some newcomers or some people that love this stuff but that do not know it yet. i happen to be a friend of hakim, and like nick said people could think im bigging him up but i do no lie when i say hes impressed me with every set hes played since i first saw him at velvet and that hes constantly improving and challenging himself.

with that said, i know its on a wednesday night, but at least come out for a bit to Daome and refresh your ears and please them.. .its only $4

see you guys/gals on the dancefloor
