Ian - Liquid Spunk [drum & bass]

Been a while since my last uploaded dnb mix which went down really well. The reason for this one is that I wanted something kinda happy to listen to and to share with a couple of close friends but since i'm uploading it anyway it may as well come on here.

As always, tune selection is where I think the strength is, mixing is imo better than my last one but it's obviously down to people to decide that. Mixing any style can be hard on traktor

Goody goody gum dwops!

Ha, it started with 1 hour, 16 minutes remaining and now, five minutes later, there's 1 hour 34 minutes remaining. Where's that whistling smilie when I need him? I should upload this to Boomer's server for you, Ian.

Not my favorite genre, but flowed very nicely throughout the whole shebang. I really liked the Lily Allen finish, twas fun

Some confusion on a few transitions, which you corrected pretty quickly

But this is a genre where even minor slips can sound, well.. pretty damn awful

Enough nitpicking. The main thing for my part is that I blasted this on full volume from start to finish and didn't even come close to turning it off, so all in all good work Ian.

I'll gladly check out your next mix.

Any chance of flac? I wouldn't want to hear your flow skills and nice tracks with the ebol mp3 compression artifacts

Posted by Ian on Nov-01-2008 00:28:

i shall have a go in the morn

to respond better to this now

thanks for the comments, the 'confusion' you speak of is due to the fact i'm using traktor 1.06 with no monitor in so the first i hear of them being off is when you do on the mix itself I've got a reasonable grasp of a lot of the genre for mixing, using the snares etc but it's not always that simple. I'd love to be able to correct it all before I mixed but that'd take away the 'live' element unless I magically conjured up a set of CDJs which are way down on the want list!

darkarbiter, working on the flac now. gotta remember what i used before lol
