ehhhhh. where's danny howells by the way???

many others are not listed ...

anyway this ?#*)$%&#(O@ top 100 is SHIT.

Posted by Trancission on Nov-01-2008 17:44:

I wonder when the first three stop showing on the top 5. It has been like this for maybe the past 6 years

Posted by Neo Hacker on Nov-01-2008 18:19:

Paul Van Dyk deserves to be in that Top 5 in my opinion. He's one of the most, if not the most talented DJ I've seen and heard.

Ferry should be in the Top 5 too. He always put on a good show.

Above and Beyond are very good producers and DJs but I would have put Ferry before them.

Anyway it's just a list. I know what I like and I don't depend on that list, that's the important part

The list is BS, so are trance DJs.

So quick question

But who the fuck is Bobina ??

p.s. that list is sooooo bad it's not even funny, that people actually look at it and take it seriously should be shot !

Posted by zeKsg on Nov-01-2008 21:25:

Sadly but a lot of people do, the people that vote this Mainstream garbage in.

Posted by klobo on Nov-02-2008 05:45:

DAVID GUETTA numba 5,now that's funny!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by Trancission on Nov-02-2008 07:28:

This is why this list is total crap. how can Guetta be 5 and Sander van doorn and Gareth Emerey be below him

That's like comparing a steaming pile of shit to a somewhat cooled pile of shit.

They both smell awful, but one is only slightly better.

Trance DJs should stop and think, think of the fist pump related injuries they've caused to candy kids who try and do it to 140bpm.

It is not the Dj's fault if kids or whatever u referred to do drugs, it is a personal choice dude

All I'm saying to trance DJs or potential ones:

Think before you trance!

Are you serious ?

SVD + Gareth would need 186420847 releases each to come close to the amount of times "Love is gone" has been played in the last year only (No disrespect to both djs obviously)

Do you have any idea how many djs play that record ?...

Only in montreal... in a single weekend... its probably played 500 times ? lol ... 1000 ? all those smalls bars... clubs... stripclubs... everywhere lol

Now think about it for a second... how many djs around the world play it in a single weekend .....

You can discuss all you want about tastes etc... but you can't deny the facts.... the guy sells like no one does

Except for Tiesto

I wouldn't be surprised, if he comes out with 1 or 2 big choons this year... that he takes the number 1 spot

Easily

i dont think he can take armin + tiesto down

but who knows

djmag is always unpredictable!!!

Well this is why I said that this list doesn't mean anything. Even if a record is played in thousands of times, this doesn't mean it is a high quality record. I am not defending Svd but the guy had a great impact on dance music and especially on trance, I understand that alot of u guys just hate the word trance

Some people do... i don't

But i think Guetta deserves to be there 100%

Flame me i really don't mind

But lots of other edm styles/producer/acts are discovered by the mainstream people because of guys like him

Those big cheesy records are good for our industry, because it is a starting point to curiosity from the young kids who dont really know what edm is

They like his songs... they look up on internet... find other stuff and lots of them discover the deeper material out there

I'm not saying he's a good dj... i don't enjoy his performances... thats another story

this list is paid for

Tiesto will never be number one again because he dissed the magazine, yet he is the worlds most popular dj still today. (i don't like him but it is true).

The people who pay attention to this kind of stuff usually use glowsticks and don't pay for music.

/thread.

who fucking cares about numbers...you will like who you like and if you don't you are a fucking muppet.

heres something a friend wrote;

"It's not enough to just put out a few tracks and tour to get on the list.

People on that list are there because:

- they have hugely popular radio shows (a must these days)
- they host nights in Ibiza
- they host other succesfull nights around the world
- they dominated the charts for their specific genre, with probably a dozen or so hit (top 10) tracks in the last year, if not more
- they had a huge commercial anthem
- put out a major album
- they tour thursday to saturday around the world every week. If they have a lighter touring schedule, they probably fill stadiums without flinching.
- they did something really cool recently that was all the rage.

If the artist hasn't done most of those things In the last year then they probably won't make the list."
