San Diego, Sat Nov 8, wtfunk up

SO I am either heading to san diego either this next weekend, or the one after. Is there anything at all going on? Events can decide when I go there. I didn't find anything big going on (no I don't consider Oakenfold big, he is here every weekend ).

Any info would be cool. If there isn't edm, then what else is there?

I might have to try and leave early on Friday to catch Kaskade. Oddly enough he has played in my city millions of times and I have to say, I have never seen him. I am trying to avoid a Friday night, but it may be best.

He's one DJ I would love to hear on a kick-ass sounds system, but looks like O.B. booked him again

We have renovated On broadway. The soundsystem and the lighting is all brand new. The interior decor is up next.

I think On Broadway is hands down the premier venue for electronic music now. Kinda puzzles me why people don't like it, I think its great, and it's the only place that consistently has hot girls!!

Robbie riveria is an eventvibe exclusive dj in san diego.

We have Richard Vission on the 8th and it is On Broadways 8 year anniversary/reopening on the 7th, with starkillers and austin leeds.

let me know if you need guestlist to either show.

on broadway needs to close later, or get the headliner playing at 1030pm so they have a 3 hour set.
thats my only gripe now that there is some competition that can go until 4am.

Agreed. My only (and consistent) gripe is the short sets from headline DJ's @ obec. The sound is nice, but what good is it when we can't enjoy it long enough. Last time we were there, SvD had a BANGIN set, but seeing the head eventvibe guy come on around 1:30am was a HUGE buzzkill

The 3-hr set from Cosmic Gate @ Spin was just the right amount of partying. With 90 minutes, you barely have time to enjoy the performance.. it's more like a preview.

Don't get me wrong, the lighting, sound, and eye candy are great to be around. It just feels like it's a high school dance closing at 1:30am.

Oh.. and Spin has LASERS!

Those Dirty Bird guys are great. That should be a good show.

+1 about On Broadway closing ridiculously early. I love the asthetics of the venue, but always felt it lacked in the sound department. I've heard the new system... fairly unimpressive. Those complaints alone won't stop me from going when a favorite DJ is spinning, but they do factor in when the DJ is only so so.

We will be glad to see you at Kaskade Friday. Richard should put on a great show too. But you definitely cannot compare to being able to stay out late - as we all truly love to do. The sound we've got here is incomparable regardless - but the energy you will feel here is definitely what tops it off.

Please enjoy your time here in San Diego! Why not try out more than just one place? Send guest lists by 4pm please

we are definitely trying to go as late as we can as often as possible, and do afterhours till 4am as often as we can..but it is hard!

as far as the sound go, its an eaw avalon system, and when it is turned up, it just downright bangs.

trust me, I am voicing you guys's complaints about short sets and in the future I'm going to try to make things happen for you all!

I heard from one of the recent dj's there that there's a massive echo and delay from the dj booth and the main sound system - fyi.

I've heard it before, and with the new install... it couldn't have helped.
