Congratulations to Sen. Obama- 44th US President

Congratulations to Sen. Obama for his well deserved victory. I know that officialy is not over, but from early results, and his win in PA (which I noted in this forum that Mccain had to win if we wanted to become president) has in my opinion solidified the outcome of the rest of the results. I also, want to congratulate Sen. Mccain for a hard fought fight, and to which he continued fighting even on voting day.

As an American, I will support Sen. Obama as my commander in chief. I hope that he can really bring the change we need in this country. There are hard days ahead of us, hopefully we can get passed them. Lets hope for the best and god bless america!

Obama is going to win the elections because of fraud, therefore, we should denounce his victory tonight, and not recognize him as the next president.

In America, you can win an election by fraud and by hanging around with domestic bin ladens.

Listen, what I was against was all the illegal registration that was taking place. The counting for the most part has been going smoothly. I suspect that and I hope, that things are going to go well for the rest of the night.

That was really big of you, Latin. I'm impressed.

It's a really moving moment, I have to admit. Congressman John Lewis barely got through his interview.

And I have to add - an incredibly gracious speech by McCain. I lost a lot of respect for him over the past two months, but he gained a lot of it back just now. If he had brought that kind of game more often... who knows.

I got to admit I felt goosebumps when the official announcement came on. We have trancended the racial history of this nation. Obama is sort of like the band aid. Congrats to Obama, he clearly out organized and out performed McCain

I must also give it to Obama. Despite what I think of his policies, what this man has done is remarkable and should be respected for it.

Congratulations USA...

...you just took a big step into restoring the way the rest of the world sees you.

wow, for all your crazy right wing ranting (were you just fucking with people?), this was a very nice thing to say.

I also agree about McCain's concession speech. It was sincere and he put his support behind Obama and called for unity. Pretty courageous and gracious in my books. I really think that he wasn't comfortable with how far right he had to move to satisfy the base of his party and he definitley would have been a better President than Bush eight years ago. But it's the Democrats' time and it's time for change!

Wow that was so lame and I"m fucking high!

the people have spoken. congratulations to Barack Obama and his family on a hard fought victory.

i agree 100%, i was absolutely moved (and i'm not an emotional person) when they called the election at 11pm EST.

I also agree on McCain. If there is a republican I could have voted for it would have been McCain. Unfortunately for him, that was before this election cycle. I lost all of my respect for him. Although that speech was very classy and gracious.

I wrote that in all honesty...I meant it as in a whole nation, not as individuals.

Finally the end of the disgusting Neocon era (for now).

Posted by Chryz707 on Nov-05-2008 06:38:

I too feel pride restored in my country. President Elect Obama will have a very bumpy road and will really need to have his ear to the ground and fix alot of the things that have taken us this far with our economy, and with 2 wars as well. lets see if he can actually end Iraq and Afghanistan. This truly is a Historic day for the United States and the World.

Posted by MisterOpus1 on Nov-05-2008 07:43:

That was gracious of both Latin and Q. This is an exceptional occasion on so many levels, and as much as I would like to cherish the moment, I'm having fun watching the closing Senate races right now. Plus Missouri is not yet done, and Obama is down by just over 300 votes with 99% of precincts reporting.

In local news here in KS, looks like we're keeping our State Board of Education with a Moderate majority, thus preventing any chances of ridiculing us again by injecting Creationism in our public science classrooms. And sadly, Nancy Boyda (KS-02) lost a hard battle to Lynn Jenkins for the 2nd district Congressional seat. That sucks bad, because she beat Jim Ryun, a hard-nosed Conservative 2 years ago, only to lose her seat to yet another Conservative. Meh.

Off to bed.
