gigs in China

This is a huge development for me, just about as big if not bigger than the gigs I played in Colombia two years ago.

How did it happen? The same friend that secured the gigs in Colombia traveled to China for the 2008 games. While there, he visited the cities of Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Beijing meeting up with various promoters, club owners. Apparently he's fluent in Mandarin lol. Anyhow, I received the email with the opportunity and we'll be meeting tomorrow night to discuss the trip. It looks like I'll be over there for a week or two in mid-December.

This is really all I know at this point. I could be playing in any of those cities or all 3. Either way, I'm both excited and in a state of disbelief.

The damndest and funniest thing is, and Rememberence and Dave remember this story, I originally met this dude when I opened for NU NRG in Austin in 2005. He wanted to buy my Vandit shirt off me and offered his Versace shirt + $100 in trade. Who would have thought...this dude would have me play in Colombia and then fucking China?

If I get the chance, I certainly will. Randall Jones told me the nightlife over there is something to see, so I'm a mixture of nervous and excited over it. Hopefully this whole thing goes to plan.

Awesome; I hope you get to go to ALL 3 places and see perhaps the subtle variations in difference, or experience new things not other wised experienced in the US. . .

Jackie Chan had a video on TV about Hong Kong on the travel channel @ like 4am in the morning on and what he likes to do each time he gets to Hong Kong is to take the train ride 2$ in USD up to the top of a mountain called "The PEak."
