This is a sample from Jon O'bir - Ways and Means.
I initially thought it was Vanguard, but now I'm not so sure. Does anyone know?
Cheers.
That could literally be anything...

It might be V-Station...but I dont know how you would program it? Does anyone know?
This synth could probably be anything from 3OSC to a Virus
NO its none of those. Its definately analogue. from its smooth warmth, I'd guess a Moog or possibly ARP 2600.
Moar Analog
I think it's Vanguard
i think this is sound..or then...no. this is... OMG, i'm so confused, anybody have seen my pills?

I didn't even listen to the sample, I was just being a dick.
But, now that I have, its clear that theres a whole stack of noise behind it, then an upper gated pad (probably PWM I'm feeling, lots of unison) then the rolling bassline comes in - I'd use FM synthesis for the rolling bass. THe sounds aren't that special, its the arrangement, where the upper synth is moving in parralel motion with the bass. Theres also a lot of tweaking going on with the filters there.
Right before the drums come in for example; he's high passed the bassline, he does the same thing on the high pad right before he introduced the bassline.
To create these sounds you really just need to tweak around a bit...
Theres also another couple of elements that are hard to pick out, one of them is a woody sounding arp sitting behind the higher pad at the beginning, this sounds really high passed and isn't that important IMO..
I'm just guessing at most of this really.
Its a multilayered lead, there are several synths behind it.
Although a supersaw is more original than this lead these days.

| I just can't remember what technique gets that sound |
You could do it with FM, but I think you'd get better results out of ring modulation or phase maybe...
