Growing Pains

I've just watched the first post-election Obama press conference, where he outlined his economic plans.

Hate to say it, but somehow I didn't witness a very confident performance. He seemed just a bit hesitant, and there were some awkward pauses where he was still trying to "find himself." Also, what was that reference to Nancy Reagan all about? lol.

I hope he adopts a more confident manner in the months ahead.

this reminds me of W's first press-conference. When someone asked him what the White House was like, his response was, "It's white."

I'm guessing, but I bet part of it was a bit of stage fright and part of it was that he's now been privy to some information he hadn't seen before about the economy and probably had a major "OH SHIT" moment. No doubt he has one of the toughest economic tasks ahead of him that'll take much hard work and innovative thinking.

Dunno

I don't really understand what people expected today. He's not the President yet and has only been the President-elect for about 60 hours.

Yes, this. The weight on his shoulders right now must be crushing - immediately following the campaign. Look at the guy, he seems like he hasn't gotten an ounce of sleep in the last 48 hours. As transitions go, I think he is handling himself very well, considering the monumental tasks ahead. Give the guy a break he is basically being asked to fix the World.

Cocaine is a helluva drug.

I couldn't resist.
