Xone 62 Cue Problem.

Alright, so my mixer has started acting up in a very annoying way. Everytime I press cue (does'nt matter what channel) I get loud crackling sounds and popping noises, as if my headphones were fucked. I tried both sets of headphones, same problem. Has anyone else had this happen to there mixer? what am I looking at in terms of $$ for repairs?

Sounds like it might need a cleaning. It shouldn't cost you much to have it opened up and cleaned out. I think it's like $40 US at my local shop.

is it a dumb ass idea to open it myself and give it a dusting with a dust can?

No I do that all the time. As long as you are gentle and don't go spilling liquids or breaking your circuit boards I recommend that you take it apart to give it a light cleaning periodically.

A lil advice on opening the unit itself from when I got information on how to change a fader.

Remove the 8 screws around the edges of the faceplate, Raise the faceplate completely to a vertical position by lifting from the crossfader edge. Make sure to clear the crossfader wires from the chassis, and balance the entire faceplate on the input connector edge of the chassis. Don't let it go any further than this, otherwise you will put strain on the pcb connecting cables.
