No, seriously I had a great time. Love seeing Lee going wild up there after seeing us go nuts
Had a nice little chat with him before he went on which totally put me in the best mood. Crowd was loving it, energy was so intense, i loved it. My feet were so sore that I had to take my shoes off later on and was surprised at how not dirty they were when I got home. Thanks Jon, once again
Had fun dancing with the blond girl who was doing guest list earlier in the night. I was happy to be your hero lol
Jeff, this was my first time seeing you play and was amazed! looooved loved your last 4-5 tracks you played such awesomeness to bring in Lee. Can't wait to see you play again.
Bruised, broken but most importantly..Burridge'd.
"Jennie's a skank"
Bitch I missed you

Great night out all in all. Ended up being hella hungover from Friday's mayhem so i wasn't as up for it as i could have been but the music i heard last night was top notch! Jeff Button played a really good opener. Had me grooving from the moment i got in shortly after 12:00am. Lee Burridge got on the decks and it was on. Full on Burridge twisted funk. I am definitely still impressed at his showmanship. The crowd at Footwork was great, i think i must have talked to at least 10 people who all were glad they chose FW instead of all the big box clubs that night with all that was going on. Right you all are. BTW, whats up to the TA's i met
. Too bad i diden't close it out but i had to jet out at around 5am. This weekend of intense events took it's toll on me! LOL
Jeff's opening set was great. Gradually and smoothly built up the energy til Burridge took over. I started movin and groovin around 12, and usually, I notice when one DJ takes over from another, but I didn't even notice he had left, I remember jammin to some track, looking up to see Lee, checkin the time (it was around 1:30) and saying to myself "Fuck, when did that happen, good shit".
Got there at 12:30 and was surprised at how full the place was and the fact that most people were already on the dancefloor. Nicely done Jeff - he had the crowd dancing early on and in the mood for the Burridge Barrage that was soon to follow.
So Burridge seemed in an experimental mood last night. There was still his trademark bouncy tech house but it was supplemented with lots of vocals, twisted saxophone sounds and strong tribally elements. There were a few times I swear he was channeling Tenaglia, in fact I won't have been the least bit surprised to see a flashlight show happening in the booth. Great tunes, excellent mixing and I loved seeing all the vinyl in play. There didn't seem to be much flow to the set as a whole, more of a mishmash of styles in fact but I guess that's the tradeoff for when the dj's in a playful mood.
And he was playful - such a happy grinning dj. He's one of the most entertaining djs to see, constantly interacting with the crowd. Super friendly as well, dancing it up middle and centre to Da Funk for his encore track.
My only complaint of the night is that there were a few rather pushy/sketchy people at the very front but I braved it for a while and then moved further back. Apart from that the crowd as the whole was good, very enthusiastic and responsive to all the great music played.
Kudos Footwork for an excellent night, it just added to my conviction that there's no other venue in town that I'd rather see my favourite djs.
