Did anyone see Sasha at Set on Nov 9?
I wanted to go but couldn't make it. The vids on youtube for the Invol2ver kickoff look incredible.
Lucky you.
Everyone not wearing a 3 piece suit was turned away and denied entrance, even with tickets in hand, and event to people on Sasha & Three's guest list.
It was very sad, I was looking forward to it.

Wow, sure glad I didn't come down. I don't even own a suit

| Originally posted by JD8180 I don't know what was their problem. I was wearing jeans, nice shoes, and a button down long sleeve and was about to walk in, but he then rejected my friend behind me. He was wearing jeans, nice shoes, and a short sleeve button down. I asked what was wrong, and he said "he doesn't meet the dress code, he has short sleeves." Right after he said that, he let in like 5 random groups of people. All of the groups included at least one guy with either a polo, t-shirt, or a short sleeve button down shirt. The bouncer offered us refunds, we'll see if that even goes through. They said that they wrote down "refund" next to our names, and are going to forward it to wantickets, who supposedly will credit our accounts. All in all, fuck Set. It was a Sunday night for crying out loud. |
and just to add on to it, there was a group of 5 guys in line before us that did not have tickets. They refused to let them in unless they paid $1,000 in bottle service.
I went to Sasha last night at Set. A decent set, but nothing amazing from "The man like". There were however some bright spots when he pulled off some pretty amazing mixes. I thought he played mostly a tech house type set that quite honestly was boring at times. I left around 4 am. Unless it was an amazing last hour, then I don't think you'll missed too much.
And yes it was really tough getting into Set even with pre-sale tickets. I saw several people get turned away for not meeting the dress code. Which as someone else mentioned was applied at will and not to all. The main problem was it was just too crowded. It would have been better to have it somewhere else that could accommodate the large crowd.
I don't think couples would have a problem getting in but yeah those rules are bogus. Good thing insane talent doesn't roll through there.
all you can do is spread the word...

Track of the Night - Timo Maas - Subtellite
nice review rudeflame. I was going to go Miami this past weekend, but decided not to. Good thing I saw Sasha in LA a couple weeks back and we thought it was really good. His last hour there was pretty good. His encore song was gebrunn gebrunn which was so nice to hear.
I'm so glad I caught him in NYC this weekend. ATL reviews all sucked and now this; maybe I got him on a good night or my taste is different from the groupthink? Either way he rocked webster hall the other night.
fuck Set. I thought it was ok seeing Howells during wmc but all reviews have always been horrible of that club.
