jamsessions over internet

anyone ever tried this? is it possible?
I had a jam session with a friend over MSN.. i made a "phone call" to him and everyone was playing something in their FLstudio (or whatever host). We routed our audio output to the microphone input.

We were in sync pretty well, and could make some trippy stuff.

Then we wanted to do it with 3, but MSN doesnt support these conferences. So we tried Skype, and it was shit, delay was a bit too much and we got feedback, plus it had plenty of errors such as suddenly someone couldnt talk.

So... anyone ever tried this? Are there any programs that support this? I dont care that much about the quality, its just a fun thing to do.

The concept is awesome and I have been thinking about it for a long time. If only one of us had coding smarts we could make it a pretty lucrative business idea

i know when g. lucas was doing star wars, instead of flying the person over for ADR they did it at sound firm sydney, and they were in america whilst doing they live takes feeding them video and the dialog. im not sure what connection they had but it sounded like ISD.

So its possiable but have you got the money?

great idea tho.

This is exactly what you're looking for. fantastic tool. a good friend and I have banged out entire songs on this, or just created a loop and jammed out on our midi instruments, guitars, or whatever. absolutely a quality VST.

yeah, shame that, as I've just switched to using an intel mac myself. hopefully in due time they'll release a version for us, as its a true gem in production terms
