CPA exam question

So, I am in my last year of school, about to get an accounting degree, but I will graduate with less than the required 225 credits. 225 is the magic number to which you are qualified to take the CPA exam in Washington state. I will be close though(like 15 credits), but I don't want to take more classes at my school to reach that amount because it is too expensive. My option is to go elsewhere to get the required credits.

I really don't want to go get a graduate degree. Here's my question. Could I take a few courses at a state school without having to go through a application process and a degree program, as a post baccalaureate student? Do state schools allow you to do this, or do they want you to go through a masters degree program? And I don't want a master's degree because once you have a CPA, it is the end all of accounting credentials.

i'm assuming the courses from anywhere else would have to go through the approval process at the school that you're applying to graduate.

maybe ask the current school if they'd accept the other school's courses as you're doubling up to graduate sooner?

i'm not sure how the board works in washington but i'm pretty sure you can take the extra courses anywhere like a community college which is much cheaper. contact the board and ask them.

edit: you will need to submit your transcripts to them to review. as long as you are enrolled in the classes to get you the hours then you can register for the exams.
