VA - Spectral Sound Remixed [Ghostly International]

The whole Spectral Sound Remixed pack is pretty damn good stuff.

1 Audion - Fred's Bells (Onur Ozer Remix)
2 Kate Simko - She Said (Barem Remix)
3 Daso - Meine (Lucio Aquilina Remix)
4 Broker/Dealer - Soft Sell (Sami Koivikko Remix) [Digital Only]
5 James T. Cotton - Distant Trip (Box Version) [Digital Only]
6 Osborne - Bout Ready To Jak (Ryan Elliott Remix) [Digital Only]

<3 Ghostly International.

listen and buy here:

remember when you buy from the label you give more to the artists and less to beatport

Definitely catchy but I'm going to keep it in the wishlist and let it settle in before I make any moves.

Sampling that led me to stumble onto his Kasmir album. There's some really good music on there I am definitely impressed

This whole release is so good.

My god I love ghostly.

I want to come back and point out just how fucking good the percussion is on this Onur Ozer - Kasmir album. I'm so so impressed. Must have.

The percs in the remix of Freds Bells are sick too. I actually didn't like it much from the sample but hearing it out made me like it a lot.

onur remix is fucking awesome

Posted by elFreak on Nov-13-2008 17:00:

the barem remix is short, but the perc line has me searching like mad for the right track to lay it over.

I also really like how spacy aquilina made the daso remix. I was not a fan of the original, but this track would be epic to slow down a set.

Yeah he played it here a few weeks back and it went off. As you said though (and is often times the case), I would've written it off based on the BP sample.

i am convinced that all releases should give a very low quality sample bitrate wise available for full tracks. It would make buying so much easier. (i am talking under 128 here)...it has worked great for several net labels, and anyone who plays shit that would be that low quality is an idiot anyway.

Even if they adopted what they do at kompakt-mp3.de and offer the track in broken up sections at a pretty decent quality, so you can get a feel for what the full track has to offer, it would be a drastic improvement.

Posted by elFreak on Nov-13-2008 19:47:

there is nothing worse ordering an actual record at ridiculous euro import prices only to find out there is a huge break in the track with pitched down cece peniston vocals.

sometimes the labels have full samples...and maybe myspace, but there is no fucking way i am doing myspace.

He's one of the best DJs in the world imo.

I think trying to enjoy Damian via a recording is slightly insulting to what he does. Plus I dont have any sets.

He lives in LA now though, so I imagine he'll be playing the US frequently. (he's already in the midst of a pretty busy north american tour)

Picked this up right around the beginning of the month. Absolutely solid release all around as usual; I've come to expect nothing less from Ghostly and Spectral.
