vancouver getting better?

It seems like our club scene is picking up a bit, at least on the progressive side of things.

In the last little while we have had a lot of really kick ass DJ's play. Dave Seaman, John Creamer, Timo Maas, Steve Lawler, Max Graham, all in such a short period of time.

I had to miss a most the shows but ill be at Timo Maas, and Steve Lawler for sure. Lets hope things keep on building, this city could have such a kickass scene.

The club scene will probably continue to get better while the party scene goes down abit.

hey, I heard clubs open till 4 am in van city now. is it true?? or what?

Clubs can be open till 4 on Fri and Sat if the pay for the extra license. And knowing the van gov it probably costs an arm and a leg for it so it is not really worth it to a club to be open that late. This is what I am assuming.

Ya clubs can stay open untill 4 but its up to the club. As far as i know no clubs have decided to stay open that late yet.

You need a special permit, and if it's like getting a permit for an afterhours then this process will take at least 3-5 months. Since this law was passed on April 1st, it should still be a little before any of the clubs that have applied will get it. Not sure what, if any clubs, have applied yet either, though I think some probably have.

And yes, you can thank B&H for the awesome, cheap shows as of late. Expect even more in the future, it's been such a huge success that they are upping the number for Vancouver come September. Also expect B&H's competition, such as DuMaurier, to start getting in on this. Let the tobacco companies fight it out I say, the clubbers are the winner =)
