Got to many ideas for songs right now but want to focus my attention on one. below is a breif sample of the chords etc tell me if it flows. oh and BUMP!

Personally, I think you should scrap it. You could do better than that.
percs, kick and bass are spot on but the synth is not good , needs work on that.
Thanks guys its not that strong a track i agree to be honest I am looking for that maghic chord seq thats sets me off tingling but this doesn't. back to the drawing board ill post some other ideas in here over next month see if folks like them.
Yeah, have to agree, the chords are pretty uninspiring.
another thing im doin is theory chords etc. so next time if the chords are still uninspiring and i post again you can all tell me off as i am sposed to be learning this lol
sonic there is nothing wrong with the riff you made the reason for such poor feedback is because you used odd notes. so keep with it
thank aw It does use odd notes, on this course im on were learning about scales and we just happened to be doing f# major the day i posted as i never used it and it has mainly black notes on the piano I though it would sound different but maybe a different scale. I think i will get it though its slowly sinking in about theory i cant put my finger on its creeping up on me. Only problem is before i started the course i been addicted to music for years now im even worse!
One thing to keep in mind Sonic, is that its the relation of the chords between them that create the tensions and the moods not the actual scale / pitch of your song's key / dominant chord. An
Am to F to G to Dm
will produce the same musicality and feeling as an
A#m to F# to G# to D#m
or a
Dm to B-flat to C to Gm
as they are all 1 (root) minor to 6th major to 7th maror to 4th minor.
Pick a scale you are comfortable working in and focus on the relationships of chords and building tensions that resolve themselves is my 2cents.

Individual keys (like F# Major, for example) don't have "special" characteristics to them. The emotion of a melody or chord progression is about which scale (major, minor, etc.) and chord types you use in the sequence, not what your root note is...
thanks greg i do know that like a 1st 4th and a 5th is what the majority of songs are written in whatever scale even comlicated ones are really just inversions of other chords and still follow it. To be honest i wasnt sityting at a keyboard and just programming the chords. One thing that does interest me is the relationship between chords im gonna learn more about ti.
The rhythm of the melody is not very good either, i think that is what makes it sound cheesy, don't worry my first productions sounded incredibly random and cheesy, some of mine now sound like that.
If you wouldn't mind putting up a midi file i wouldn't mind trying a remix, for some reason i imagine this a a pretty filthy hard trance/psy song. :P we'll see how the turns out, also you could pm me.
