Sharam has released Crazi

Hey guys, Yoshitoshi here. Thought you guys should check out Sharam's new track Crazi. Also, if you're going to be in the DC area this coming weekend (11/22/08), Sharam will be playing at Ibiza Nightclub.

A guy who generate a sound like air being let out of a balloon and sets it to a rudimentary throwaway beat is now a musical genius.

actually one of my old professors of electroacoustics showed me a musician who builds massive balloon apparatuses in his basement and then does proximity recordings as he 'plays them'. he has a cd called 'ensemble of balloons' or something. the sounds were fucking crisp, mindblowing, and damn impressive

he does a combination of letting air out and also using rubber bands dragging on the taut surface, as well as percussive slaps of the rubber bands. the sounds are fucking unreal. hardest kicking bassdrum you've ever heard

I love unorthodox sound sources and bizarre noises. But, you know, do something creative with them rather than making a silly throwaway track like this.

The only good I can see in this is that now I won't be tempted to see Sharam spin at the next big festival in Los Angeles. One less stage to worry about seeing talent at.

Saw Deep Dish last year - not too shabby.

Saw Sharam spin a few months ago, pretty terrible.

The trend of downfall continues with this release.
