RICHIE MOTHER FUCKING HAWTIN

NERD?

You have got to be kidding me.

This is like Global Gathering in the UK this year with Jay-Z or whatever hack rnb singer they got.

This year's is going to be even more crammed full of scenesters than ever before.

In all honesty, not much there is exciting me. Schulz only kind of, he'll bust out another GDJB type set, I've enjoyed him much more when he's played different styles.

Or have they fucked up the spelling like Markus Shulz?

Posted by gumble on Nov-21-2008 08:10:

its actually pronounced "wahzo"

It's french

I wouldn't call NERD fans scenesters, by any definition. Way too mainstream for that.

You are pretty negative person aren't you

nah I just think that its a piss poor lineup so far.

I'll give credit when credits due, but that lineup is pretty shit.

Posted by kibnetc on Nov-21-2008 09:00:

Super8 & Tab are also playing

Posted by Fledz on Nov-21-2008 09:19:

Ahahahahahaha, fuck that. Passing again for two reasons. First because there's absolutely no one on there that I want to see, especially not for like $120 and second that this lineup will bring out the biggest fuckwits you will ever see in your life. Especially in Sydney.

As soon as randoms start raving about a festival....stay the fuck away at all costs, lest you be smothered by fluoros and roid boys.

Posted by mmkoiman on Nov-21-2008 09:41:

wow, aaaverage first round announcement.. not even super 8 & tab would get me there this time around..

you can be guaranteed super 8 & tab will be stuck on a side stage..

Posted by m1kest4r on Nov-21-2008 10:44:

I'm quite tempted with the line up.

N*E*R*D and Richie Hawtin are the big drawcards for me, but if possible I'll check out Sander Kleinenberg, Markus Schulz & maybe even a little bit of Lifelike.

Don't want to spend $90/100 on N*E*R*D sideshow ticks, to be honest.

Posted by EgosXII on Nov-21-2008 11:00:

M.E.H
pretty shit. not going to a whole day of the horrible bowl to see Schulz on the terrible side-stage where the volume is so low you can clearly hear people 10 metres away talking...

future ftl.

schulz was pretty amazing at the last festival he played.. not sure i want to venture out for another one.. hopefully some more exciting 2nd round offers...

Posted by EgosXII on Nov-23-2008 00:33:

holy shite that lineup's huge

and yeah. CSS = wtf? hahah

Posted by gumble on Nov-23-2008 01:49:

CSS would be Cansei de Ser Sexy. Pretty much one hit wonders from 2006, didn't know they were still around haha!

Posted by [ groovypants ] on Nov-23-2008 11:42:

CSS has quite a presence in the indie scene.

Hmmm.. NERD, CSS and Hawtin are the only main drawing cards for me.

Hopefully some good additional acts for 2nd round?

Do you actually know anything about NERD at all? I think they are a great addition to the line up.

And Jay Z is not a hack RnB singer

Please explain to me how NERD are EDM? Also, please explain how that fuckwit Kanye West is EDM?

GG = EDM
FMF = EDM

Do we see a problem here?

I dont see a problem at all!! I didnt think any of them were claiming to be EDM.

They are Hip Hop acts, and two of the biggest in the world. I wasnt aware that these festivals were STRICTLY for electronic DANCE acts only.

I have seen NERD live before and they are very impressive. I also recall DANCING at their show. Kanye isnt playing here for those festivals so dont bother getting your knickers in a knot over him. He is actually quite good live aswell.

If Kanye West headlined GG in the UK, which I believe is the home of Global Gathering then wouldnt it seem that it isnt strictly for EDM acts?

Posted by Fledz on Nov-24-2008 05:21:

I never said they were bad acts. What I said is they are not EDM which is what these festivals are meant to be.

Did you not see how much backlash there was to Kanye playing at GG?

I, like many others, go to these events for EDM. I'll go to other festivals if I don't want EDM or a mixture of things.

They are turning our EDM festivals into money pits where they want to cram any artist in. If I wanted a mixture of acts, I would go to Good Vibes. I don't expect non-EDM at FMF.

Posted by charlee on Nov-24-2008 05:28:

So does that mean no breaks or hip hop DJs either?
