BLUE MOUNTAIN PREPARES FOR OPENING DAY

Collingwood, ON. November 21, 2008 Blue Mountain Resort has received 10 cm of fresh powder in the past 24 hours and with opening day top of mind snowmaking is underway. Weather and conditions permitting, the resort tentatively plans to open for skiing and snowboarding, Friday, November 28th. Anticipation of this date is palpable however the plan is reliant on temperatures throughout the coming week.

Total accumulation of snow to date is 55.5 cm with more expected today and overnight. Although ideal snowmaking weather and conditions are present over the next couple of days, temperatures are expected to rise into next week which could affect plans for opening.

Operations crews are keeping a close eye on the forecast to maximize snowmaking and ensure that everything is shaping up to provide great early season skiing and riding conditions. With quality as a top priority the resort reminds guests to monitor our website regularly for conditions updates and the status of opening day plans.

+1. It was a birthday present

I hope I don't re-injure my knee I hurt it in the beginning of March and it still bothers me sometimes. I'm trying to decide whether to go to physio.

dude. get that knee looked at.
it's not just short term you're worried about. long term consequences are bad

Blue

Can't wait myself, staring at the weather forecasts everyday hoping the temperatures sticking low. Want to go November 30.

Started skiing last year and I got addicted immediately. Skied Blue 25 - 30 times last year and this year it will be even more often, luckily the gas is cheaper now.

Going for 10 days to Tremblant for new years and later to Whistler in Feb/March.

I had an X-ray and an ultrasound done on it about one month or so after I hurt it; both examinations showed that my knee is (oddly) perfectly healthy. The doc said it's probably a hurt tendon and would take a while to heal.

I'm planning to go to Blue on Friday; we'll see

x-ray would not show any ligament damage
and the ultra-sound I've never had done (i had a blown acl/mcl)
was it a regular doctor you visited? becuase unless you see a knee specialist you won't know what is wrong with your knee
every knee specialist will know what is wrong by touch, while a regular doctor will only look for swelling and bone damage

good luck at blue, post back on how it goes
im going to mt st louie saturday for my first test of my newly constructed knee!

come with me to blue and you will see what I am talking about..

you gotta pay 5$ if you want to go in the park where there is a halfpipe.. this is why you need padding.

My mood re: the snow depends greatly from day to day (often strongly correlated with how much snow ive had to shovel before and/or after work!!)
