OLD Oakenfold tune NEVER IDed...
Recently i saw someone on here that had a link to a track ripped from a classic Oakenfold set in their Signature. The signature said something like "8 years and still no ID"
Does anyone know about this posters signature or link?
I was going to talk with Paul about the track and even go through his old vinyl if need be. See if we can track down the tune, but now i lost the sample/link.
Help?

That's fbjdavisdon's sig.
Here's the file he links:

From what I recall reading, it seems Oakenfold himself wasn't much help in tracking this one down.
everyone's been wanting that track for as long as I can remember. would be nice to finally have an ID.
HAHA... wow I guess there's still a chance.
KT are Oakey's records properly categorized? How on earth can you start to sift through vinyl from that time period and know you're not skipping over any? Best of luck with that task... I don't envy you. But I (and I'm sure many others) will be forever grateful if you can find it!
PS. Isn't the rumor it's some amateur production out of Germany? Maybe that can help narrowing it down...???

It's me!
I mentioned in another thread I don't ever think it'll be ID'd but I've had it for a while now so just leave it there...updating the years and months every now and then.
If you can get Paul Oakenfold to figure out that tune let me know. I might go and buy a few lottery tickets!
And that's why I love ya KT! See ya in a few days.

There has been a lot of talk about it in another thread on here, it would be a popular decision.

i have a long standing theory about this track. goes something like:
Vinyl falls through time warp from 2049. Oakey finds track in mailbox, Plays it at the rojam, Track goes unidentified until 2047 when TA Alberto Falk recreates track for his Music History course. Presses the track to vinyl for historical accuracy (Receives A+ on project). While traveling through back time to learn more about electronic music in 2049 (Back to 2008) he and his track get separated, Vinyl falls through time warp from 2049, Oakey finds track in mailbox...Ect.
hope i,m wrong.
try to find some info on 'The Source - Fly Away'
good luck
Heres a higher quality sample

What about track 5 from the Shadow Lounge Essential Mix? I'd actually prefer to have this one.
28-03-1999 / Shadow Lounge, Miami, USA:
Part 1
00:00 01. TasteXperience - "Highlander [Original Mix]"
07:13 02. Jan Johnson - "Am I On Pause [Original Mix]"
11:38 03. Space Brothers "I Still Love You [Dub Mix]"
17:44 04. Marillion - "Face 1004 [Mark Mitchell Remix]"
23:28 05. Prism - ID
30:31 06. Fat Heads - "Music 4 Lunch"
37:11 07. Nat Monday - "Nucleus"
41:16 08. Pink Bomb - "Indica"
47:33 09. UTM - "Stream" (?)
56:16 10. Auratone feat. Stacey Q - "Falling"
62:47 11. Ascension - "Someone [Slacker's Elevation Vocal]"
68:01 12. Perfect State - "Perfect State [Original Mix]"
the production quality of the unId'ed track is pretty high for the time: it's gotta be a know producer (back then at least). The producer may have dropped off the map and might not even know that his track is trying to be ID'ed. I've heard the story that someone asked Oakey and he said he didn't know! I guess he got a white label that maybe wasn't marked and maybe/mabye not someone was told the name and forgot. Someone should ask that guy that keeps selling the Krystal - Burning Flame (Original Mix) vinyls on ebay . I say this because of his reason for owning all the copies of Burning Flame. He says 'HIS FRIEND' handed Oakenfold the original CD-R of Burning Flame, which Oakey liked and they had a few copies pressed. Maybe he could point us in the right direction.
*also - great news about the Perfecto back catalog on digital! thx for the update and the effort KT!
Can you make sure when you release the back catalogue that 'Wild Colour - Let It Rain' doesn't get overlooked please?
