yeah that's where i saw it. He's confused dj Chris Cox that lives here in LA with Carl Cox before on his blog....though since he's made 2 posts with the same info i'd like to think its correct.

Carl Cox fuck'n ripped it back in October at Avalon. that place is going to be a mad house. who are the promoters pushing it?

basically in house i'd guess/assume as Danny B is one of the owners of Ecco.

Its kind of like "Monday Social" size, but slightly bigger and more tables. Definately will fill up fast, but the people at the door are pretty strict (i.e. for Miguel Migs, letting in girls first, the usual Hollywood door policy).

i can confirm it

spoke with mark lewis this weekend and he will be opening up for him, so yes, it's on fckin school night and all. well, i may just have to suck it up and go anyways and just suffer through work the next day

sounds like GOA before it closed...policies that wont endear them to the house heads...but then again, they obviously are targetting a different market...

Pre-sales??

hhhmmmm...who's complaining?

there lies a big difference between an analysis and a complaint, FYI...

following your logic though, why are you complaining about my point...to quote an obviously not-so-wise man, "if you dont like it, dont complain"

I wish someone had the balls to book him in SF

Posted by Cool1g on Dec-01-2008 04:07:

so has anyone been to this joint yet? i know the have had some parties there past couple weeks or so...but havent had to chance to stop by yet...

Posted by Musicalmindz on Dec-09-2008 21:43:

I was at Ecco the week of thanksgiving for the Heather/Colette show.

The upgrade from the old Tokio Lounge is ridiculous because this club is actually worth going to now....

- Dimly lit
- Small space, similar to Nacional but with a nice outdoor smoke lounge
- Great sound, probably not as good as a Funkt1on but the Turbosound wasnt washed out or anything noticeably bad especially because the space is so small
- Drinks are normally priced, nothing crazy
- Overall good vibe, cool crowd, maybe a little classier than Vanguard and infinitely better than the Avalon crowd. Reminded me of the crowds at King King actually for Compression.

I just got my tix so ill be heading out, cant wait to see Cox, never seen him live

Posted by pnutttty on Dec-09-2008 21:45:

sweetness. cant wait to check it out.

Posted by djcami on Dec-09-2008 23:01:

hell yea, can't wait for tonight.
if the set tonight is anything even close to his set at avalon last month then i'll be totally satisfied.

Posted by pointer on Dec-09-2008 23:42:

I'll be stopping by with Andre tonight to check it out.

felt like cox didn't play as hard as normal. it was still good, but not the cox i was expecting i guess.
ecco is real nice! the smoking area outside is chill, and the crowd there was nice. there was also plenty of space to dance. drinks weren't as expensive as avalon and stuff so i liked that. got totally bombed.
met 72hourpartyanimal outside too. hello to you

wuddup brutha man!!! dude... i was totally lit when we met each other.

i had a lot of fun....yeah Carl didn't play 3 hours of pounding techno but that's fine with me...the set was good tech-house IMO. Cool thing was he played 2 tracks at the end written and remixed by some of the people i was there with!

weird crowd though: 1/3 industry, 1/3 washing machines and 1/3 weirdos.
