im still waiting for word from some relatives of mine there...
*waits patiently*
And this is why India just is not as safe as people like to think. Thankfully this time most of my family lives in other parts of the country, but attacks have occurred in those cities as well.
Pretty intense battle it seems. A few shoot outs, grenade attacks, and the head of the anti-terror squad dead, sounds like an episode of 24.
Damnit!

I hope all of your relatives are safe, holy crap.
I guess you can never really be safe anywhere these people decide to attack.
V scary. I was supposed to be in that exact area only a few months ago.

isssssssssssssh :/
2 friends of mine from my old job in London are over there right now....trying to get a hold of some of my old co-workers to make sure they are safe *worries*
I hope everything works out ok. Watching it on CNN now and Indian troops just stormed the Taj Hotel where the foreign hostages are being held
My mum's friend is in Mumbai now....thought she was stuck in Beijing as her passport had been lost when she sent it off for her Indian visa but she's there

Watching the coverage, I kind of feel like when the tsunami hit...not that the scale is the same, but that I started to realize it could be a lot bigger than what is currently being reported.
Its very frustrating and disturbing every time I hear about something like this in India or anywhere in the world. But this hits me harder and makes my skin crawl. Although I didn't grow up there, Mumbai is where I was born and I have a LOT of family there. I try to visit them once every year, so I guess that's why I've always felt a strong sense of attachment with the city.
What makes it more frustrating is how religion becomes a scapegoat for something perpetrated by a bunch of lifeless cowards who do not belong to any faith.
I hope your close ones are okay. I know mine are, including my mom who is visiting. I'm heading down there myself next month.
