Torturing Democracy - How America Lost Its Way

Watch this documentary. You will see how it all started. Frankly, this is as best an indictment of the Bush Administration for war crimes as any solid case could bring. My opinion, Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld should be charged for war crimes and tried in the Hague Courts.

Short excerpts. I'm just waiting for anyone, ANYONE, to even try to defend this.

powerful stuff...

one of the people interviewed early on in this doco, Moazzam Begg, wrote a book about his experiences in Guantanamo. It is an excellent read, written by a very intelligent man:

Enemy Combatant: A British Muslim's Journey to Guantanamo and Back
(ISBN 0-7432-8567-0)

I suggest you read

What really pisses me off is 500 detainees at Guantanamo have been released without charges. Tortured. Detained. Without charges. The day Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Yoo, and Haynes are prosecuted for war crimes is the day I believe America really stands for justice. As it is, the dream that was once America is long gone. Wait, just wait, for when our service men are captured, they will subjected to the same treatment, if worse.

It was only ever a dream. People have always, always ate up this whole "American Dream" shit, so there has always been a market for it, but in reality the United States is a country, just like any other, that has committed atrocious acts with the justification of defense or politically alignment. It is simply the very nature of any government.

This is a sad reality, I hate how patriotic Americans can be at times, when the webbing of their sustainability is more or less evil when it comes down to it.

A classic right wing nut Elizabeth Hasselbeck type response to this would be...oh, its a fabricated documentary bla bla bla and pull the propoganda card. its good to see some higherups in this to give these types of people credibility

and why was the first guy tortured by the yanks? or was it the South Viets??

Thanks for posting - just watched all 3 episodes.
