What is the best eq plug in
probably the sony oxford stuff. Now it is called sonnox oxford. Algoriyhms straight from their now discontinued $100.000 digital consoles.
That's got to be the weakest review I've ever read. 2-3 sentences for each plugin, no justification, no quantitative data/info, no audio examples, no author or qualifications listed, etc. Just one unnamed person's opinion. I could've spent that 5 minutes looking at porn instead...

Apulsoft APEQ is my favourite. It costs very little, and it sounds crystal clear. The best eq is the one you cant hear IMO.
Its 64 band, with a built in analyzer and an awesome interface.

Wave Arts TrackPlug 5
it has a brickwall elliptic high pass and low pass
APEQ is also my favorite, like Beyer said sounds clear, plus while your adjusting you actually see whats going on with your sound, thats really handy.
Yeah, that article sucks. It's brief and only talks about a handful of plugins. EQing is absolutely critical to getting all the tracks in your mix to mesh well, and is also a great way to morph your sounds to match your imagination. But it's a funny thing because these days it's so easy to program an EQ plugin that 90% of EQs on the market sound identical.
What you really want to look for are EQ plugins that will add character to your sound. With that in mind, no single EQ is sufficient for any seasoned producer. Each EQ adds its own tone to the sound and is good for certain tasks. For simplicity, performance, and value, I recommend the Waves Studio Classics bundle and the new JJP bundle. Both contain awesome EQs and compressors that are very sonically accurate emulations of the original piece of gear.
Is that article serious? It sounds like an infant wrote it. I wouldn't take an article like that seriously at all.
Alanzo is right in saying that 90% of eq plugins are almost identical. You can successfully null out the sound using many eqs such Sonalksis, waves etc with even the built in cubase 4 eq, meaning it can sound identical.
The only difference is some eqs will get you where you want to get quicker than others, some are more intuitive etc. The UAD plugins do sound better when boosting and do impart a very slight coloration to the sound though imo.
