Hopeandchange discounted 63%

85 of the 135 (63%) of the memebers of Obama's agency review teams are now Clinton retreads. A glorious discount of Hopeandchange in time for the holidays. I know it's a fishbowl in Washington, but clearly he could have found other people with fresh ideas.

"Here's how you can tell the campaign is over and done with," wrote Ben Smith and Carrie Budoff Brown in Politico. "Clintonites are everywhere."

Where would you like anyone with experience to come from, the Carter administration?

Posted by Lebezniatnikov on Dec-02-2008 02:34:

Haha, seriously. If they didn't come from the Clinton administration, we'd have the17sss crying about how inexperienced the Obama administration looked. Wouldn't be the PDD without him copying and pasting something that isn't even an issue.

I find it amusing that you've chosen to misquote in your signature in order to make a political point (once again).

precisely. i really hope these guys manage to find some real points of contention in the next 8 years.

Clinton people? F*ck!! I hope we don't have another 8 years of peace and prosperity like we did in the 90's..

Right, because the US never bombed Serbia or Iraq killing innocent civilians. If not more then just the same number as Bush administration has.

I find it amusing that you're obese. But that's besides the point. It is an exact quote, fuckface. It is the 2007 winning entry from an annual contest at Texas A&M University calling for the most appropriate definition of a contemporary term.

And, what's the problem with me making political points anyway? That's all you fucking do... other than stuff your face full of carbs and confections, that is.

they were all thoroughly-justified attacks.

I'm not saying that have to come from the Carter Administration... or the Clinton administration.... it's all about the IDEA of real change, and Obama's own words (paraphrasing) talked about the opposite of change being simply moving around the same old players in Washington into different chairs. There are plenty of new, qualified people with legislative or policy experience throughout the country with fresh and like minded ideas that he could have tapped for this "change", but he didn't, and that's the point.

I'd like to point out that this forum has a set of rules that you should re-read; this isn't the cor, even though there's been a good migration there since things seemed to lighten up a bit with Obama's victory.

I assume you're referring to this--->

No Argumenta Ad Hominem: Hopefully, this is just temporary, but let's try to avoid any name-calling and/or personal attacks. We're here to discuss about politics, not to show how many insults we know in a determined language. At the slightest provocation, the necessary measures will be taken to solve the problem.

Single me out and make an example of me if you wish, but where were you backing me up the times I had been told to F off and die, die a slow death from AIDS/cancer, referred to as an ignorant fuck, etc. by certain members during my many months in the PDD? Is that not Ad Hominem?

My response was aimed at Lebz that way because as always, he finds it necessary to comment on anything I say with an air of condescending arrogance and intellectual superiority, and frankly it pisses me off. There are plenty of other people who share his political views that I get along with fine because they don't think they are better than everyone else. So, if I broke the rule I'm sorry and I won't do it again, but let's call it both ways in the future ok?

Thank you for being understanding;

It's political discussion so naturally tensions can rise and people slip, especially between strong oppositional personalities. It's not like any of us is a saint, but there is a certain line of respect that we should be mindful of.

And that does go both ways... if I had seen someone say anything like that to you, I would have been the first to jump on it, believe me. :P

peace

Ah, I see you've committed whole-heartedly to using insults about physical appearance to win arguments on the internet. Well in. Your mother must be proud.

Since this is a pretty common mistake made in the comments section of blogs like RedState and NRO, here's the original text (that comes from a PUMA email that circulated during the Democratic Primary).

quote:
The following is the winning entry in an annual contest at Texas A&M University calling for the most appropriate definition of a contemporary term: This years term was Political Correctness.

The winner wrote: Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end

If you think it makes sense that a campus-wide contest to define a word would reward a blatently partisan submission, go ahead, insert the word "liberal" in there to make your point. But excuse me while I interrupt my "intellectual snobbery" to go eat a doughnut.

I think someone needs to edit their signature. Even a redneck school like A&M in a hillbilly shithole like College Station isn't made up of so many idiots they would award someone for being a partisan hack.

(I went to UT so you must forgive me what but what I say about rednecks and hillbillies is true. They were in prevalent in Austin as well but to a much lesser extent. I should have gone to school on the east coast.)

don't worry about what my mom thinks. The insults were just par for the course after your usual holier than thou comments. But thanks for pointing out the PUMA email's original text (not really)... I'm not sure what the point of that is because I don't care where my sig came from, be it A&M students, a PUMA email, or Osama Bin Laden; and whether or not it makes sense that it's the result of a campus wide contest; I like what it says and I made it my sig. I don't have to cite a sig like a damn newspaper article.

I'm not really sure... I was only focused on the Clinton re-treads

You're the first person I've met that went to UT that wished they went somewhere else. I've been to Austin and the campus a couple of times... seems like a pretty awesome place to go to school. Tons of hot women, a young professional diverse city, and a short drive to The Hula Hut!

To quote Zach de la Rocha, 'fuck white culture... americana'

But seriously I guess that is what happens when you go to the university of Texas which is a state with a very large hispanic population only to find there are more blacks, asians, and international students than there are hispanic. Institutional racism at its finest.

That and I never wanted to go to UT... I was forced.

I guess UT is cool if you own a thousand acre ranch, wear pink polo shirts collar popped with cowboy boots, and love being in a fraternity while driving a lifted F-350 and living in a $1000 a month studio apartment all of which your parents paid for. And enjoy the women who are attracted to those kinds of men.

I didn't so all of my friends were just normal people who worked 40 hours a week.

haha... yeah that sounds more like the student body makeup of an MIT or something. How were you forced into that? And, where did you really want to go?
